"discovering hope after despair is a great feeling."

-

weekend finally came, and i wasn't expecting to feel so much excitement on hanging out with renjun. i'd hate that before, but something has changed. was the reason because i'm finally considering him as my real friend? however, i am certain that something clicked inside me when he spilled the hidden emotions he's been keeping. it was as if it made my mindset for him change, and now i'm looking at his eyes differently.

haechan went off to somewhere he didn't mention like what he usually do when he's going out, or coming home late from school. it's also his advantage for having a car to go to anywhere he wants— being grounded by our parents, and not being able to use it is an exception.

the sun looked like it was about to dip an hour later, so i rushed out from the house, shutting the door behind me with the house's keys secured in my grip.

renjun just told me to meet him at his place, and it made me wonder. if it wasn't somewhere like a park, or a restaurant, then it's at his house where we are going to hang out at?
with that thought earlier, i made some delicious food i used to cook for him back then before putting it in a bag. it would be nice to eat dinner with him with my food once again.

before heading at his place, i decided to grab some snacks in the store causing me to drop by first. there, i was surprised to see uncle jae at the counter, doing his usual job.

"oh? i thought you're a night shift, unc— miste— i mean, oppa," i stammered as i pushed the handle infront of my chest.

"they made me work earlier today since the other one was sick," he scratched the back of his head before whispering as i passed by him, "i had a big feeling she was just faking it to go hang out with friends."

i laughed, scanning around the shelves to think of something better to eat. "hey— speaking of hanging out with friends, what better snacks to eat for that?" i asked, rubbing my chin with my elbow placed on the back of my hand.

"you know, just that typical chips. that would be fun," uncle jae responded which made me nod my head in agreement before grabbing some from the shelf. "who're ya hanging out with?" he asked by the time i reached the counter, placing the chips on top.

"renjun. the one who i came here with," i answered while grabbing my wallet from the bag. i then got out from the store, waving at my friend as i held the door's handle.

"ah— by the way," uncle jae spoke up, causing me to halt from stepping out. "that guy's face really is familiar. i couldn't stop thinking about it."

i simply smiled, and said, "you probably saw him here in the store" before stepping out.

the streets still looked bright while i walked down to renjun's. with the full bag in my grasp, i thought about the food i made for him. it felt like the old times when i used to carry this bag while walking in this neighborhood. i did the same thing as i did before while making this— i thought about him. just like what i believed before, when you make something for a specific person, you'll think about that person too... and that's what makes it special.
