"that's not what i mean. i like you, alright? are you dumb to not realize that?"
-
it wasn't me.
only those words, and nothing else was written on the small piece of paper. not even on the back.
my brows were slowly connecting with each other as i tried analyzing the words. amidst of it, i turned my head to renjun behind me with a confused look as i studied him. he was just looking down on his textbook with his elbow pressed down on his desk, and his cheek resting on his hand. nothing suspicious can be traced on the look of his face either.
it wasn't him?
definitely, this is from my secret admirer with this familiar handwriting. an assumption of it being a warning for me to know he wasn't the one, barged in my mind.
so... he wasn't the one who gave me the note earlier?
a sudden rush of shiver down my spine came as i rubbed my skin with a bizarre feeling. it weirded me out, especially with the memory of the unusual muffled noises i heard back in the library.
i have no clue on what's going on, and it scared me. i felt like a threat is near me. this even add with all the things happening between renjun, areum, and i.
as if the day flew too fast, the classes were over. with all those overthinking i had gone through all day, it made the time run faster than i thought it is.
i heard the boys had already gone to chenle's place, leaving renjun and i left behind to go there. he had told me to meet him by the school's gates, and had also asked permission from my brother to take me with them. i really appreciate him for it.
a pair of tired eyes greeted me as soon as i arrived at the said meeting place. this caused me to tilt my head, and study his face who had carved a charming smile.
"are you fine?" i asked as we started walking away from the complex.
"yes. i'm just pretty worned out with my last class," he let out a sigh. "by the way, why didn't you tell me what areum was about to do to you?"
i halted on my pace, causing him to stop and look at me as i smiled awkwardly. "i-is it necessary for me to tell you?" i tried my hardest not to sound offensive.
"ofcourse," he merely responded, not letting a change of expression pass across his face. "you promised." then, he continued walking.
"i don't think she's going to really slap me anyways."
"you're trying to see her as a nice person."
"i'm not forcing myself, but you know... i think she's actually a nice person," i blabbered, now following behind renjun like his tail. "maybe she just likes you so much, and... well, couldn't control her emotions with the thought of us being in a relationship."
what am i saying?
"i don't know if i should either agree or disagree with that, (y/n)," he uttered, not turning his head to look at me. "but you know, i hate you walking behind me."
