-third person's point of view-

"you're sohye, right?"

"y-yes," the girl stuttered, lowering her head down with anxiety. she fidgeted her fingers under the table with renjun sitting across her in the school's coffee shop. she somehow ended up there with renjun who called her to grab some coffee especially in the cold weather, yet she guessed renjun's reason was deeper than that.

"don't get nervous," renjun smiled at the girl which made her look at him in the eyes, and her mind went serene. "i just want to ask you something."

sohye nodded in agreement, allowing him to ask her any quetions with her answers clear and honest. however, without a doubt, she still couldn't completely compose herself for some reason.

"don't tell areum we met here," he chuckled. "we don't want her to get mad at you," he added with a smile, placing his chin on his palm which made sohye freeze on her seat. with sohye's cheeks heating up, she nodded without a word to say as she diverted her eyes down on the drink she's now cupping.

"say, who took the photo?" renjun asked which made sohye halt in her thoughts.

"i knew this was the reason why he asked me for a drink," sohye said in her mind.

"you should answer me honestly." it was more of a command from renjun. "i didn't yell or even say a word to you back there because i didn't think starting a problem is a good idea. i just think it's better to figure things out privately— without eyes judging," he spoke which made sohye feel impressed of how calm and professional he was, but at the same time, felt degraded to assume he was comparing himself to sohye— who caused a problem by handling the situation badly infront of people.

"well, i can't say i am completely disappointed myself with the photo that you posted. it went a little overboard from my perspective, but i do think it somehow affected (y/n) more than i do," he continued.

"and that's not a good thing." sohye's flattering face dropped by the moment those words escaped renjun's lips.

"that bitch again?" she thought. she looked up to see renjun's blank face again as she eased her mind to try not to slip any foul words infront of him.

"i apologize for that, renjun." her hands were about to shake, yet she stopped it from happening by grasping her cup more. "but it wasn't me who took it."

he shifted from his position to sit up straight on his seat, with his back leaned on the chair. "then... who?"

sohye squinted her eyes while looking down again before taking a deep breath; she uttered, "it was areum unnie." she then heard renjun inhaling exaggeratedly which made sohye lift her chin up.

"i figured it out," he smiled sarcastically. "i just had to make sure." he stood up from his chair before looking at sohye. "thank you for the time. i appreciate it."
