Gerard

Darkness. I was trapped. I couldn't wake up, no matter how hard I tried.

"Gerard!" I knew that voice. It was...

"GERARD!" I snapped awake. Frank was leaning over me, staring into my eyes. I breathed lightly as I took in the fact that Mrs.Iero and Mikey were standing at the door. I met eyes with Mikey as I sat up. Frank sat back, breathing heavily.

"What happened?"

"Nightmare..." I watched as Frank flopped onto my chest.

"Wanna talk about it?" I shook my head. I didn't want Frank to learn just how messed up I was. Mikey and Mrs.Iero left the doorway, disappearing down the hall. Frank just laid on my chest, the action bringing me comfort. I lifted my small, pale arms, the arms that my mother hated just because they were mine, and wrapped them around Frank. He hugged me back before kissing me. I let his warmth and safety embrace me, melting into the kiss. It wasn't making out, just a little kiss as if to say that it would all be okay. He pulled back and whispered into my ear.

"Gerard Way. I love you." I nodded and cuddled closer. I breathed in, smelling Frank's cheap cologne, though it didn't smell bad. I knew it was cheap because the Ieros didn't have much money. I let the safety of being in Frank arms develop me as I drifted to sleep again. This time, there were no nightmares. I only felt the warmth and happiness of being near Frank. I woke up the next day to Mikey's amp being knocked over. I was the last person to wake up, watching Frank shush Mikey around the waffle hanging out of his mouth. I sat up and smiled at him before sliding out of bed. Frank's waffle fell out of his mouth as I squeezed past him and entered the bathroom. My hair was sticking up in multiple directions and I had bags under my eyes. After washing my face and brushing my teeth, I went back to Frank's room. I pulled out some clothes from the laundry basket filled with my clothes and went to go get changed. I walked out of the bathroom dressed in a Nirvana shirt and black jeans. I dug my boots out of the bottom of the bag that I had used to carry all my stuff here and pulled them on.

"Going for a more confident look?" I smiled up at Frank and smiled, shrugging.

"Dunno. Just felt like not wearing a jacket today."

"Dude, you, like, always have a jacket."

"I know. I'm like a jacket-" I stopped the statement as Mrs.Iero came around the corner, saying that it was time for school. We all filed out the front door. We had opted to walk to school today, and we made it on campus a few minutes before the bell rang. We made our way into the building. Mr.Quinn passed out the flyers for a Geography Bee. He ran drills for the rest of class using the map of the U.S. that was hanging on his classroom's wall. I was surprised at just how much Frank knew, even if he didn't make the classroom's final three.

"Where'd you learn all that stuff?"

"My dad taught me. Then, y'know he made it big as a doctor and left. Haven't seen him in awhile." I nodded. I knew what it was like to have an absent father.

"Yeah, well, at least your mom didn't go insane after he left."
