"Be careful unnie! You know it's not safe to be out too late these days..."

Mina was worried as Sana had offered to go buy snacks for her and Momo at a nearby convenience store while they studied. The two had a test the next day, but Sana was lucky to be free at the moment.

"It's just two blocks down the street, don't worry too much about me," Sana said.

Mina waved her off worriedly as she sat down on the couch of their dorm with her laptop in her lap, a penguin blanket comfortable wrapped around her tiny body.

"Ooo, don't forget to buy jjajangmyeon!" Momo yelled as she headed to study next to Mina too.

Sana chuckled at the elder girl, always asking for food, even when she's just eaten. She opened the door to their dorm and get the cool breeze brush against her body. She zipped up her jacket before locking to door behind her. She walked down the stairway of the apartment as she put her earbuds in and blasted her music, drowning herself out from all the noise around her. She took her walk to the convenience store as an opportunity to isolate herself from the rest of the world. Even if it was just for 15-20 minutes.

She began her walk with her hands in the pockets of her jacket. She hummed the tune of the song she was listening to as she made her way down the dark streets at night. Not all of the lampposts on the street were working at the moment. So some sections of the sidewalk weren't lit up.

She eventually made her way to a convenience store at the corner of the street. She walked inside as she took one earbud out. She saw nobody inside besides the cashier, browsing on his phone. He looked up at her and smiled, which she smiled back in return. She read his nametag, reading:

Mark

"Hmm... he's kinda cute..." she thought to herself.

She made her way to the aisles and grab various bags of chips, bowls of instant noodles, as well as different beverages from the shelves. She made her way to the checkout so that she could pay for her items. The guy named Mark smiled at her again before pricing her items.

"Will that be all?" he asked.

She nodded as he continued to check her items. She noticed his accent was foreign. Asian, but definitely not Korean. Chinese maybe?

"That'll be $15.87,"

She pulled out a $20 and handed it to him to which he gave her a receipt with change.

"See you later," he said with a wink.

It didn't strike her as off or anything. While he may have been cute, she felt like he was someone who was quite flirtatious. And that's a lot coming from someone like her.

She exited the store and started back down on the walk home.

DING

A few minutes into her walk, she got a text. She pulled out her phone as she checked the message.

Momo: Hurry up Sana, I'm hungryyyyyyyy

She chuckled reading it.

"You're always hungry," she said out loud.

She suddenly fell back as she walked into something hard, dropping her phone and the bags she was carrying.

"Hey! Watch where you're going!" she angrily yelled.

She looked up to face whoever had bumped into her to see a man in a hood, dressed in all black. His skin seemed so...

Pale...
