"Tell me what it means," Keith said.

"Our organization is built on secrecy and trust. You two should leave. Now," Kolivan told us.

They let Keith up.

"Wait, you two?" I questioned.

"You have questions that I have answers to, I'm sure. If you want answers you will stay with us"

"Why do you trust me so much? You don't know me!"

"But I know your mother and father. They would have raised you to be almost exactly like them," he looked over at the other two.

"We came here to form an alliance, but obviously, we're not welcome. Come on, Keith, Aris, we're leaving," Shiro said.

"Not without some answers. Somehow, one of your knives ended up with me on planet Earth. Tell me how," Keith said to Kolivan.

"Maybe it wasn't the knife, maybe one of the members ended up on Earth," I suggested.

"Your friend is right. It is time for you to go," Kolivan said.

"Where did it come from? I have to know"

"You seek knowledge? There is only one way to attain knowledge here"

"How? I'll do it!"

"The trials of Marmora. Should you survive, you may keep the blade and it's secrets will be revealed"

"Survive?" Shiro asked. "Keith, this is crazy. If they're not going to help us, let's get out of here"

"I'm not going anywhere. I have to do this," Keith said surely.

"Antok, give the boy the blade," Kolivan ordered, and Keith got his blade back.

"We will meet again," Antok said to Keith.

"Can't wait," Keith said.

"These trials result in one of two things. Knowledge or death," Kolivan said.

Keith was brought to an empty room meant for battle, changed into a uniform given to him by one of the other members. Shiro and I watched from a screen while all the other members, except for Antok and Kolivan, left.

"You have one of your own, don't you?" Kolivan asked me.

"I didn't bring it though, because you said no weapons"

"Hmm, a mechanic who listens to directions"

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"You're parents rarely listened to little orders like that. They always made sure they were prepared for everything, even when they were supposed to have nothing"

I was about to look away from the screen, to look at Kolivan curiously and ask more, but I gasped when Keith's opponent sliced his shoulder. He kept getting tossed back and he lost the battle, but he didn't give up. Because of that he went on to the next round, fighting against two members.

"This is not a fair fight," Shiro said.

"Nor is taking on the Galra, yet that is the fight we face"

Keith was beaten again, but he continued on through the third door, now fighting against three of them. He continued, more and more members coming for the battle with each door he passed through.

"When is this over?"

"Sometimes, the greatest challenge is knowing when to stop"

"He'll never quit"

"One way or another, this will end. Knowledge or death"

I gave off a little angry scream, running away from them towards the rooms where Keith was fighting. I didn't know where to go but I did eventually find him fighting against five members. He was breathing heavily, looked tired, and was all beat up.

"Aris? You aren't going to stop me"

"Who said anything about stopping you?"

I helped him fight and we took down the five fighters, but then in the next room, six, I knew Keith was at the end of his strength.

He threw his blade at one of the platform elevators before they could close, running through the members and jumping down. I followed him, since none of them tried to stop me.

"Guess I really wasn't supposed to go through that door," Keith chuckled, walking out of the elevator.

"Keith, slow down, you're exhausting yourself," I told him, running to catch up to him.

I took hold of his arm, trying to stop him from walking, but he fainted. I gasped and fell to my knees beside him, making sure he was alright.

"Shiro? Aris?" Keith asks, still focusing on the world around him.

"I'm right here, Keith, but Shiro..."

I helped him up, looking at him strangely. It was like he saw Shiro, however Shiro wasn't here.

"What are you talking about?" He paused, like he were listening to someone talk. "I can't give it to them, Shiro. It's the only connection I have to my past. It's my chance to learn who I really am... Shiro, you're like a brother to me, but I have to do this... I can't do that... I've made my choice"

"Keith?" I asked quietly as he looked down at the blade then at the room in front of him.

"Shiro! Wait!"

He ran forward but then froze. I didn't move, not wanting to be attacked by him. I couldn't guess what he was going through or seeing. Then he fell to the ground. That's when I ran forward. He was having a nightmare or something, because he looked like he was in a lot more pain than what he just went through.

"Keith!" I knelt beside him again, trying to wake him up.

The base started to shake and I used myself as a shield for Keith, blocking him from falling rubble. When he weakly opened his eyes I smiled but we both blushed noticing our faces so close together. Shiro ran over to us and we helped Keith up.

"Stop what you're doing!" Kolivan ordered.

"What are you talking about? What's going on?" Keith asks.

"Call off your beast!"

"Move out of the way! We're leaving!" Shiro yelled.

"You're not leaving with that blade. It does not belong to you. You failed to awaken it!"

"What does that mean?" Keith asked, his voice cracking.

"Give up the blade!" Antok said, rushing towards us with his weapon.

I let go of Keith and ran forward, ducking under Antok's blade when he swung it at me then punching his face. He fell back.

"You'll get nowhere using force," I mumbled.

"Just like your mother," Kolivan said almost proudly.

"Wait! Just take the knife! It doesn't matter where I come from. I know who I am," Keith said, holding the knife out. "We all need to work together to defeat Zarkon. If that means I give up this knife, fine. Take it"

The blade glowed, shrouding the room in light. The blade then turned into a sword.

"The only way this is possible is if Galra blood runs through your veins," Kolivan said.

The Red Lion stopped attacking and we flew back to the Castle, Kolivan coming with us. The others were waiting for us when we landed.

"Princess Allura, it's good to see that the rumours are true," Kolivan said, bowing to Allura. "You're still alive after all these years"

"So is Zarkon. Can we consider you our ally in the fight against him?" She asked, sounding unpleased.

"Yes, but we have little time to discuss this. I just received word from our spy inside the Galran hierarchy. They have become aware of our presence so the timetable for our plan has been moved up"

"How soon do we begin?" Shiro asked.

"Now"
