Voltron's Mechanic (Keith x OC)

18) Black Site

I woke up in the pod and stepped out. All the others were there, waiting with smiles.

"Welcome back, Aris," Allura greeted with a smile.

I glanced around at them. "Where's Keith?" I asked seriously.

"He left. Shiro's back to being the leader again," Lance told me.

My eyes widened and I ran out of there, shoving past Shiro who tried to stop me, saying I was still weak. I ran straight for Keith's room.

"Keith!"

He wasn't there. I had hoped maybe they were lying, it was all a big prank or joke, but he wasn't there. I fell to my knees when they started to feel weak, unable to hold myself up anymore.

"He wanted to say goodbye, but he had to leave on a mission," Allura told me.

She was standing behind me, in the doorway of Keith's room. She knelt down beside me and put a hand on my shoulder.

"He's with the Blade of Marmora, you'll see him again"

I nodded and stood up, going to the lab so I could work on my glasses and get my mind off things.

"Hey, Aris!" Pidge said, walking into the lab.

"Pidge, glad you're back. Can you hand me the screwdriver?" I asked, not looking up.

"Yup!"

She handed me what I asked for and I finished up with the modifications I was adding to my glasses, updating them since they had been in the Castle for I don't know how many years.

"So, how was the trip?" I asked, putting on my glasses.

I looked up with a smile, the smile falling when I saw Matt, her brother, standing beside her with wide eyes. I moved the glasses to the top of my head and stood up.

"Matt!" I said with a light chuckle. "You survived space!"

He ran towards me, a smile now on his face, and he picked me up in a hug. I winced, still sore from when I was in the explosion, and he quickly put me down.

"Sorry"

"It's fine. I'm mostly healed, but I guess I still have a couple bruises from a mission"

"Mission?"

I nod. "With the Blade of Marmora. There was this explosion and I was in the middle of it. Somehow I survived, maybe that's just thanks to me being half Altean or maybe I'm just lucky"

"You're not Human?"

"Not entirely, I think"

"What happened to you? How did you end up out here? Were you with them when they first found-"

"Matt, one question at a time. It was when you guys were reported missing. A ship landed on Earth, the Galra came for me. They took me and I was a prisoner for a while on Arus, until I found the others"

"They came to Earth for you?"

"You know what my mum and dad were like, how they were known all over the world. Turns out it was all over the universe. The Galra must've caught word that their daughter was just as smart as them, so they came after me"
