I sat on a couple of crates that were outside the Lions, Shiro came and sat beside me. He looked a lot better than when he first woke up.

"How old are you now?" Lance asked me.

"Um, well for us we were gone for two years, so maybe 20? Yeah, I think 20"

"That's so weird how you used to be, like, a year older than me but now you're three years older than me"

"It's strange for me too"

Pidge came over and stood beside where I was sitting.

"Were you able to contact Earth?" Shiro asked.

"No luck. The low power levels are probably affecting our broadcast distance. And nothing Wren tried worked either"

"There's some sort of interference that blocks any of my attempts," Mum told them.

"I'll keep trying as we head for Earth"

"I can't believe we're finally going home," Lance said.

"I'm gonna hug my parents and never let go," Hunk said.

"I can't wait to see how Dad integrated Altean and Earth technologies together. I bet he came up with something amazing. And my mom..." Pidge's excitement faltered a little. "Oh, she's gonna be so mad at me for running away. I hope I'm not grounded"

"How long do you think it'll take us to get home?" Keith asked.

"I was just calculating that now," Coran responded. "Without the luxury of a wormhole and with diminished power cores... let me see, carry the one... oh, it's gonna take us approximately 150000 Earth years"

Everyone gasped, looking terrified or worried.

"A hundred and fifty thousand years?" Keith yelled.

"Coran, I think your finger counting is a little off," Pidge told him.

"He got the math wrong," Mum said, managing to calm the others down. "It'll actually be 1.5 years"

"Oh, right. I didn't carry the three," Coran said sheepishly.

"It's going to be a very long and difficult voyage, but it's our only chance to replace the Castle of Lions," Allura said.

"There were times when I thought I'd never see Earth again. To be able to go back-"

Lance cut Shiro off, shouting excitedly. "Well, What are we waiting for, guys? Let's hit the space road"

"I suppose we need to figure out who's flying with whom," Krolia said.

"And what about the animals?" Coran asked.

"What about them?" Pidge asked.

"Well, the Wolf can't go with Kaltenecker, wolves eat cows. The cow can't be in the same area as the mice because aren't cows afraid of mice?"

"No, elephants are afraid of mice," Lance responded.

"Elephants?"

"Yeah," he holds his arm out like it were an elephant's trunk. "They're giant, gray animals with long noses that grab things"

"Giants with long, grabbing noses? Earth seems so strange," Allura said.

"The wolf is riding with me, but that means Hunk will have to take the cow," Keith said.

"'Me with the cow?" Hunk asked, pointing to himself. "Not a good idea"

"Hunk's right. Keith, you're keeping the cow," Lance said. "Someone else is gonna have to take the wolf"

Everyone glanced at Pidge. "Not me. I am allergic"

"I'll take the mice," Allura said.

"How come you get the smallest passengers?" Keith asked, crossing his arms.

"I say we go old school and draw straws," Hunk suggested.

"But I'm terrible at drawing," Allura whined.

"She really is," Coran said. "One time she tried to draw her Nan-nan, but what she came up with, I've gotta say it looked more like a flan-bil-diplor"

"Guys, you're all overthinking this. I know exactly where everyone should go," Lance said.

Hunk got the mice and my mum. Allura got the wolf. Keith got Krolia, Shiro, and Coran. Lance got Romelle and I. Pidge got the cow.

"Hunk and mice, ready to go," Hunk said.

"I'm ready too. But the wolf looks restless," Allura said. "How did I get stuck with it again?"

"I'd gladly trade you the wolf for-"

Coran cut Keith off. "I have a question. Why did we let Lance decide all this?"

"Enough whining!" Lance said. "Romelle, Aris and I are going to Earth, who's coming with us?"

We flew off and Romelle immediately started asking questions, racing around the cockpit.

"What does this one do? Is this the lasers? Where's the mouth blade button?"

"It's jaw blade, and please don't touch that," Lance told her. "Romelle, come on. This is a dangerous war machine"

"What if something happens to you? What if you have to go to the bathroom and you break your leg and then we're attacked, and I have to save the day?"

I stare at her with wide eyes at her incredibly detailed story. "I think that's where I'd step in"

"Lance, check it out," Hunk said, pictures of him and the mice appearing on a screen. "I'm being attacked by giant mice. Stop! They're eating my face," he yelled in mock terror, then pulled his phone away from the screen. "Ah, just kidding. I took these pictures myself. They're mice-selfies"

"Not now, Hunk, I got my hands full"

"Oh, man, I gotta send this one to Allura"

"I think you made the wrong choices," I told Lance.

The room filled with smoke and Lance started shouting. "What did you touch?"

"What if I touch this?" Romelle asked, racing to the other side.

"Guys, I think I did a bad job choosing the passengers"

I could hear Coran singing something that sounded like an alphabet in the background. Romelle joined in with the singing. Pidge was the only one not saying anything.

"That's it! We're switching passengers!" Keith shouted.

"I second that," Allura said.

"Agreed," Lance said.

"Hey, why haven't we heard from Pidge?" Hunk asked.

"Yeah. Wait, who's in her lion again?"

"I don't know, you're the one that came up with this grouping," Keith said, sounding annoyed.

"Doesn't she have Keltenecker," I pondered.

"Other than the cow, is she all alone?" Allura asked.

We took a brief pause, giving Pidge the mice, Coran, Romelle, and the wolf.

"Oh, come on, guys, this is so not fair," Pidge groaned.

"I call dibs on playing the video game first," Coran shouted like a whiny child.

"But I already have the controller," Romelle said.

"Pidge, tell Romelle to give me the controller. I called it first!"

"No. Nope. Nuh-uh. No way. Can't do this," Pidge said.

The wolf teleported behind us, standing right beside me as he teleported us to the Black Lion. Then he brought Coran to the Red Lion.

"Aris?" Shiro asked, shocked to see me.

"The wolf can apparently teleport people," I told him with a chuckle.
