Do you Remember me?

Chapter 2

Jace listened to the steady hum of his engine as he drove.

He found it interesting how cars could become a blur if you went fast enough, how everything became a blur if you went fast enough,though fewer and fewer cars were on the road as time went by.

It was getting dark- his headlights weren't proving to be the best as he had trouble seeing pretty far out of his windshield, but he knew the route home pretty well.

The thought of Clary floated around in his mind, how it often did. Her smile, her laugh, her hair, her eyes, her scent, her beautifully skilled hands... everything that made up her seemed to be on his mind 24/7.

It wasn't as if he was complaining, hell- he loved the fact he could call her his.

Seeing the ring on her finger that promised that for certain was a godsend for Jace.

He toyed with his phone in his hand, debating to pick it up and hear her voice again.
He smirked at the thought of her playfully teasing him... she'd probably say something like, 'Miss me already, Goldilocks?' or 'Can't get enough of me- can you?'.

He huffed a laugh, accidentally dropping his phone onto the ground, under his seat. He glanced at the road before reaching down to grab it, feeling it brush against his fingertips. He struggled to get a hold of it, readjusting himself to reach it better.

Just as he was about to grab it, two bright headlights right in front of him caught his attention, causing him to veer his car sharply to the right.

What he didn't see though, was the tree, and ploughed straight into it.

His head banged against his steering wheel painfully, causing his whole body to go limp as he lost consciousness.
The feeling of broken glass embedded into the various sized cuts on his skin didn't affect him as he struggled to mumble out the person he needed most.

"Clary..."
