"He has my eyes." Will stated matter-of-factly. He stroked the baby's cheek, a gentle smile gracing his features whenever he looked at his son.

"They haven't even opened yet!" Tessa argued, inspecting her child's face closely.

Will shrugged, "I can already tell, he definitely has my eyes." A playful smirk tugged at his lips, causing Tessa to roll her eyes.

"Well, he has my nose then." Tessa grinned, planting a quick kiss on the baby's nose.

"Wrong again, love. He has his notorious Herondale looks going for him." Will said, poking Tessa in the side. She pursed her lips to keep herself from smiling at her husbands awful humour.

"Does he have any of my features?" She inquired, narrowing her eyes at Will. He chuckled nervously, scratching the back of his head as he looked at the infant. "Now that you mention it, maybe he does have your eyes."

He looked at the baby pointedly as if the child were about to open his eyes to show his mother their true colour. Will's shoulders physically dropped in disappointment when the baby remained asleep.

"My little Jem," Tessa whispered to the baby. "Please never acquire your Father's terrible sense of humour."

"Hey!" Will exclaimed, feigning offence. "It's not awful! It's called witty. I'm witty, Tessa! It's my most charming quality, you said so yourself when you first met me." He winked, a smug look on his face.

"And it's proven to be the bane of my existence." She shot back playfully, grinning when Will sulked away.

She continued to coo at the baby while Will made his way to the door, gazing back at them occasionally to send miserable looks.

"Will, could you ask one of the nurses if I can have something to eat? I'm starving." Tessa asked without looking up from her child.

"Not one day with that baby and I'm already kicked to the curb." Will muttered.

His face split into a wide grin when he suddenly heard Tessa exclaim from behind him, "I heard that William- and you're totally right!!"

"Simon, make sure we have the right room, I don't want to get lost in this place." Jocelyn warned, hurrying down the corridor.

"She said 625- we don't have much time though, visiting hours are over soon." He replied, struggling to keep up with Jocelyn's pace.

For such a short woman, she sure could move fast. Her quick feet were set in a determined fashion, leaving Simon to awkwardly manoeuvre his way behind her.

"God I hope Tessa's okay, I haven't heard from either her or William since she went into labour." Jocelyn continued, approaching the elevator at the end of the hall. She tapped at the button repeatedly, muttering curses at it's many floors to descend.

Simon collapsed onto the wall beside her, heaving slightly as he tried to regain his breath. Why was this hospital so damn big? And why wasn't Jocelyn even breaking a sweat?

Was he really this badly out of shape?

He tried not to think about it too much, instead busying himself with the numbers on the elevator. He watched as they grew closer towards the ground floor and used it to steady his breathing.

3, 2, 1...

Will stepped out of the elevator nonchalantly with his hands in his pockets. His brows suddenly rose in surprise to see the pair standing in front of him. A dazzling smile graced his features, lighting up his whole face.
