I will always appreciate your unwavering support! So without further ado, here is chapter 31 :)

Alec gripped the steering wheel of his car tightly. He had been parked in the hospital car park for almost ten minutes, not finding the will to make the journey inside.

He wasn't prepared for what he would see.

He racked his fingers in steady thuds across the wheel, jaw clenched tightly. He never wanted to come here, he had only left to be near Jace but what use was that now? Jace was in the hospital and Isabelle had found out his true sexuality.

There was no room for secrets anymore.

His hand suddenly flew at the steering wheel violently. He thrashed at it with every bit of strength he had in frustration. He didn't stop until he was gasping in ragged breaths, almost sobs, as he gripped the wheel with both hands.

How did it come to this? He had been perfectly happy with his life before this stupid little getaway. He had become comfortable with the steady routine of silently admiring Jace while simultaneously keeping his true identity hidden.

How could Isabelle have possibly figured it out? Was it a moment of weakness? Or was he really being that obvious about his attraction to Jace?

In the space of a week all of that had come crashing down and left him exposed. He felt truly vulnerable and it was terrifying.

Another heavy sob escaped his lips and he found himself shaking. He closed his eyes, resting his head back against his seat. He focused on trying to calm down his breathing, sucking in deep, steady breaths slowly.

A sudden tap at the window made him jump, and he looked up to see the silhouette of a man outside of his car.

He rolled the window down hesitantly, keeping his gaze relatively low so that the stranger wouldn't see his obvious turmoil written across his face.

"Sorry to bother you, but I couldn't help but notice your current predicament." A smooth, velvety voice rung out. He dipped his head low and peered into the car, which made Alec hold his breath in surprise.

He gazed at the flamboyant looking man with wide eyes, noticing the sparkles that adorned his styled hair as well as his clothes, which seemed to have rhinestones and glitter embedded into them.

Every time he moved the moon light seemed to make him sparkle, the glints of light momentarily blinding Alec.

"What's your name, biscuit?" He smirked, tilting his head to the side like a curious looking cat. Alec couldn't help but stare into the strangers eyes and realise how much they did actually resemble a cats.

It might have been the light but his eyes seemed to glow a yellow, hazy colour as he gazed at Alec. The feline look to him seemed to root Alec to the spot, a long silence following the exchange dragged out between them.

"Oh, how rude of me...you must be busy. I'm sorry for intruding when I don't even know your reason for being here. I should go-" The man said unsurely, regret painting his features and maybe even... disappointment?

"Wait!" Alec exclaimed, grabbing his arm. The man looked at him in surprise before regaining his cool composure enough to smirk down at him.

"I'm Alec, Alec Lightwood." He said, gazing up at him hesitantly. He couldn't help but notice the quickening thump of his heartbeat ringing in his ears, and he was scared that even this mysterious stranger would notice too.
