"Yo Kiana." Oscar stepped into the house, she was packing up, taking her gloves off. "How'd it go?"
"Well," she huffed, "her ribs are bruised, not broken. But she needs to be very careful, anything could hurt them further. Her right pinkie is definitely broken, I wrapped it up and it should heal in a month, the rest are just jammed. That should take at most: I'd say a week to heal."
He nodded, "anything else?"
"Yeah." She said, "I stitched her up and got her in the shower."
"Thank you Ki."
She grinned, "no problem, any girlfriend of yours is a friend of mine."
"What about the other thing I told you about?"
"Oh." She folded her lips in, nodding. "Unfortunately yes, she was raped, and it was pretty bad. Now that's not my degree but I'd say it was at least three guys. It couldn't have just been one."
Oscar pinched his lips together, huffing softly. "Alright, thank you doctor."
"Of course, text me if you or your girl ever need anything." Kiana picked up her medical bag, kissed his cheek then walked out of the front door.
Oscar decided she would need clean cloths, so he was gonna play the nice guy and let her borrow his for a while, until she figured out what she was going to do. So he walked to his closet, pulling out a grey t-shirt and a pair of basketball shorts. Then he grabbed a clean towel, scooping all of the items into his arms as he walked toward the bathroom. Sabina cracked the door open when he knocked, the only thing showing was her eye and an eyebrow. "I brought you some clean clothes and a towel." He handed them to her, looking away when she opened the door wider to grab them.
"Thank you."
He nodded, taking a few steps back until he was walking toward the front door. Finally, he sat on the concrete ledge, taking in a deep breath.
"Whats up fool?" His homie chuckled, "hyna got you all tired?"
He didn't say anything, he shut his eyes, licking his lips.
"How is she?" Cesar asked, taking a sip from his beer can.
Oscar shrugged, "I don't know, how would you feel if I DP'd you?" Cesar stayed quiet, looking down. "I'm sleeping with you tonight mano." He said, "she's gonna sleep in my room."
Cesar nodded at him, "okay."
The front door opened and every single person in the front yard turned their heads. Sabina appeared in Oscar's long shirt and shorts.
Cesar chuckled, "you look like boo from monsters inc."
She smiled softly, feeling shy in front of all the grown men.
"You sleepy?"
She nodded softly, "I can sleep on the couch."
Oscar kissed his teeth, hopping off of the ledge and led her into the house, toward his room. He flicked the light switch on, "you can stay in here."
"Is this your room?" Sabina looked around, then at the back of his head, her eyes unknowingly going to the Santo tattoo on his neck again.
He nodded, "si, pero you can have it while you figure your shit out." He grabbed a couple of blankets from the closet, setting them onto the bed. "These are clean I just washed them."
"Spooky." She shook her head, "I don't have to sleep—"
"It's fine." He said, "you'll make it up to me one day."
Her mouth agape as he walked out, turning off the light and shutting the door behind him. Once she was alone in the dark, she felt her chest become heavy, making it hard for her to breath. Her eyes teared up and she began to sob.
"Yo I forgot to give you a pillow–" Oscar opened the door, freezing when he saw the state she was in. They stared at each other for a second before he walked toward her, wrapping his arms around her. "You're okay, you're safe here."
She sobbed quietly into his shirt, "it just got so dark, I couldn't breathe."
He realized leaving her alone in the dark after what she went through was a complete mistake. She was sleeping on the noisy streets, right after being taken advantage of and almost beat to death. As much as Santos hated Diablos and the other way around, he was human and he felt for her. "Do you need me to stay with you?"
She nodded, "please?"
"Okay." He sighed, "just 'till you fall asleep, though." He looked around for a second, "let me just let the homies know I'm going to bed."
