Chapter 42

The next morning, I woke up alone in the bed. Climbing out, I went and got dressed into some simple sweats and one of Tom's large shirts. I walked down the stairs to see Tom talking with Cissa. "Cissa!" I exclaimed, running to hug her. "Good morning Harry." She said, hugging me tightly, "You go any do your normal day. By noon everything will be set up, then I will help you and the girls get ready.". I nodded and kissed Tom's cheek before heading toward the kitchen for breakfast.

As I ate, Tom came in and kissed my cheek. I smiled and spoke, "How is Cissa doing with the decorations?". He hummed and grabbed food before speaking, "Good, she has the elves helping her hang things and setting up the ballroom.". I smiled and nodded, continuing to eat. As I did, I heard a scream causing me to stop and run up the stairs. I ran into the girls room and saw Clary and Val were awake and crying. I stripped off my shirt and grabbed them, holding them up so they could eat.

I grimace as Clary bit particularly harder than normal before going and sitting in the rocking chair. I watched as Tom came in the room, dropping to his knees in front of me, "Are they okay?" He asked. I nodded, "They just woke up and were hungry." I declared. He nodded and rubbed my leg gently as I finished feeding the girls.

Clary finished first so I handed her to Tom who gently burped her before placing her on his lap. Val finished so I unlatched her and gently burped her as Tom grabbed my shirt. Val burped so I traded her for my shirt so I could slip it on before Tom handed her back. I stood up and kissed her head, heading down into the living room, Tom on my trail.

I sat on the floor, placing Val there too as well. Tom came over and placed Clary down near me and sat across from me. Clary rolled onto her back and I began tickling her belly causing her to giggle as Tom did the same to Val. I felt someone cover my eyes and Tom laugh. "Guess who." I heard a whisper against my ear. I smiled, "Sev!" I squealed. He uncovered my eyes and came down, sitting next to me.

"Hello love." He declared. I scooted over and climbed into his lap, nuzzling into his arms. I nuzzled my head into his neck and heard a coo. I looked down to see Val looking at us and cooing at us and playing with her hands. I chuckled and moved to scoop her up into my arms before going back over to Sev. I sat in his lap with Val in mine as he wrapped us in his arms.

"I never did ask, how did you get here?" I asked curiously looking at him. I chuckled and placed his head on my shoulder, "Faked being called by Tom while I was in the Old Goats office." He declared, kissing my neck. I moaned quietly and nodded. Narcissa came in and squealed, "Severus!". She came over and hugged him as I moved over to Tom's side.

"Hello Cissy." He said, hugging her. Cissa let go and turned to me, "I finished decorating for the party, so if you wish, I can take you and the girls upstairs and help you get ready.". I nodded, grabbing Clary and taking the girls upstairs with Cissa following us up. We walked into my original room so Tom and Sev could get ready without seeing us. "I have a dress for you that I believe you would like." Cissa said, conjuring a dress. It was a pure black, off shoulder, long sleeve, floor length ball gown. I placed Clary and Val on the bed and grabbed it squealing, "I love it!".

Cissa pushed me into the bathroom so I could take a shower while she dressed the girls into their dresses for the evening. When I came out, Clary was in a emerald green dress what reached her feet and flowed at the waist a bit, and Val was wearing a dark crimson on that matched her sister. I walked over and kissed their faces causing them to giggle before Cissa had me sit in a chair so she could do my hair and some light natural makeup.
