~Y/n's POV~

I slowly turned around to see who opened the door, it was just Travis.

"Rude much?" I sassed, "You didn't even knock."

Travis just looked at me then slowly closed the door.

That was kind of creepy.

I shivered then went back to the mysterious book.

There has to be a decoder or something. Or maybe not, I mean who would leave a decoder for a book that was not meant to be read by normal 'people'. I wonder if there's a library around here.

I kept looking for answers or even English but there was nothing I understood. Until I saw something interesting on a page. It was halfway in-between the middle and the back of the book.

It's a picture of the bookshelf in my room. Why would it have a picture of the bookshelf? This looks exactly the same.

To be fair the books on the shelf now were a 'little' bit dusty.

Why is it so old?

I examined the picture and saw little numbers on the books. 8, 0, 2, 1, 1.

Okay, I don't want to be stupid and not figure this out right away like in some of those movies and books . . . I wonder if it's more complicated then I think. I'm just going to try the simple solution first. If it doesn't work, that is when I find a more complex solution.

I pulled the book that had a zero on it first, then the ones, two, and then eight. I waited for a moment . . . nothing happened.

Hooray! Looks like I'm not stupid! It's definitely a little more complex. Time to think of more solutions.

~Travis's Demon's POV~

~After Travis First Left Your Room~

After I left The Demon Witch's room I went back to my father and The Demon King. I walked into the throne room and bowed to The King.

"Was she doing anything weird?" The King asked.

"When I opened the door I popped my head in and she hid something behind her. I couldn't see what it was," I responded.

"Watch her from now on. We don't want her to know what we are planning," The King ordered.

"Yes sire." With that I left the throne room and went to my room.

I never asked her for her name. I introduced myself and she responded to me being her guard, instead of her telling me her name.

I felt flickering between Weakling and myself.

Not here. Especially not here. I haven't been myself in so long I'm having a hard time keeping in check.

I used my power to keep Weakling asleep. The human side of demons can't remember what happens when they are in demon form, the demons remember everything though. Even in human form since demons are more powerful.

It was about 8:30 p.m, but of course you can't tell in the Nether. I sat on my bed for awhile then remembered what The King said.

I'm supposed to spy on her from now on? You know what I'm going to check on her again.

I got out of my bed and headed to her room. I creaked it open and saw she was sleeping at the desk, with her head resting on a big book.

She kind of looks uncomfortable sleeping at the desk with a book as her pillow. Maybe I should move her . . .

I picked her up from the desk and put her in her bed, I then put blankets over her.

I'm usually really flirty and not as caring as Weakling.

Why am I acting different toward her?

~The Next Day~

~Y/n's Demon's POV~

I woke up in a warm bed.

What am I talking about? It's always warm in the Nether. I thought I was sleeping at the desk.

I looked over at the book and then someone knocked on the door.

"Come in," I said. The door opened and it was Travis.

"Good morning," Travis greeted. "I hope you don't mind I moved you from the desk to your bed."

"Thank you."

"I noticed you had a book on your desk with weird symbols. Can you read it?"

"No, I'm trying to figure out what it is though," I sighed, "Why are you asking?"

Travis ignored my questioned and walked to the book and stared at it. It was like he was reading it.

"Can YOU read it?" I asked sternly. Travis jumped a little because I startled him and interrupted his reading.

"What? No, I can't," he responded quickly.

That was too hurried. He's hiding the fact that he can read it. Maybe there's something in that book that he doesn't want me to see.

"You know what? I should probably take this book, there's nothing special in it," Travis said grabbing the book off my desk.

"If there's nothing special in it why are you taking it? That was the most suspicious thing in the world," I said throwing my hands in the air.

"I . . . I just need it."

"You know it's probably been here for centuries and nobody has touched it!" I was getting very annoyed. "Control."

I pointed at the book and motioned it to come toward me, the book flew into my arms. I then pointed at Travis, turned him around so he was facing the door and I used my magic to push him out. I closed the door, then locked it.

"That'll teach him not to mess with me," I whispered to myself. I looked at the symbols and sighed.

Wait . . . I'm being stupid. I can use my magic to decode.

I face palmed and opened the book. "Translateia?" I said uncertain. I waited a couple seconds. Nothing happened.

Maybe it was because I was unsure. I'm going to try again.

"Translateia." Still nothing happened.

This is weird. My magic isn't translating this book. It's either the book or me.

I turned and pointed at my pillow. "Levitateia!" The pillow floated up slowly. I turned back to the book.

So this isn't me, it's the book . . . Oh goodness. There's a spell on the book so I can't translate it? That's not fair.

I grabbed my phone that I snuck here and looked at the time, 8:30 p.m.

I wasted this whole day? It felt like 10 minutes. It's a good thing I don't have to eat or I would be starving. You know what? I'm just going to take this book with me and translate it on earth. I can't use my phone to look it up because . . .

There's sadly no signal here.
