Sorry for any mistakes.
Also sorry for never explaining the scenery before 💀

"It means you're mine now."
You didn't think your face could get any redder. You were a full on tomato at this point.
"Woah man," Lucinda interrupted as she stood up. "I'm still here you know."
Travis stopped teasing you. "Ah sorry Lucy, I was too caught up in this girl finally being mine."
"Lucy?" you questioned as you got up on your feet. Your tomato face was gone and back to normal.
Lucinda crossed her arms and scoffed. "He does that just to annoy me. That's really it."
Travis nodded and stood up as well. Then he grabbed your hand to hold it. "Can we get out of here now?"
"I want to, but I feel like something is off." You looked around and then noticed a body on the ground. The blood being nearly invisible on the deep red carpet. "Ah that's right. My father is dead."
At that moment, someone burst through the doors.
"What happened?!" Amber shouted. She ran over and saw the dead king on the ground. "Holy-"
She almost fell over but Lucinda caught her. She looked at Lucinda. "Thank you." And she jumped back onto her feet. "What happens now? He's dead and there's no ruler anymore."
Amber stared at the body and then at you. "Wait, you'd be the new ruler. Does that mean you have to stay?"
You waved your hands in front of you. "No, no. I can't stay, I don't really want to be ruler."
"Someone has to do it though," Amber said disappointed.
You thought about it and an idea popped into your mind. "Maybe you can do it."
"Huh? I don't think so. I'm not fit for that and you barely know anything about me. How would you know if I'm a good person?" Amber questioned rebutting your suggestion.
"Oh, uh . . ." You went blank. She was right, you didn't know anything about her. I should probably choose some else then.
"I guess you're right, but who else do we know that can do it?" you asked any of the three people in the room. You turned and Travis was right behind you.
"Oh goodness. You scared me." Then you remembered someone that could take over the throne. "Travis. This is kinda odd to ask, but is your dad a good person?"
He gave you a confused smile, "Hm?"
"What do you mean 'Hm'? We haven't changed subjects."
"Oh, I can't really say. He's my dad and if he was doing something bad, it most likely wouldn't be in front of me," Travis explained.
Amber cut in. "From what I've seen as a staff here, he seems like a pretty nice guy. He was always nice to me and the other staff, unlike the king. Also, the people seem to like him."
You put your hands on your hips. "That seems like a good sign." You turned to Travis. "Should we ask your dad?"
"I guess you should give him a heads up before dropping a bomb like that on him," Travis shrugged.
"I guess we should find him." You started heading to the large throne room doors to leave.
"If you want to find him, he's in the courtyard," Amber informed pointing in the direction where he was.
"That's an odd place for him to be," Travis mumbled looking at you. You smiled and grabbed Travis's hand as you went out the doors.
You and Travis made your way to the courtyard (after getting lost a few times) and spotted Travis's father right where Amber said he was.
The courtyard was a flat area with a lava fountain in the middle. There were red trees and bushes lining the walls and placed evenly apart. Black flowers adored the mahogany bushes while black vines gently flowed down the trees. And if you looked over the edge, you could see the village below.
You gasped slightly at the scenery and let go of Travis's hand. He pouted but followed you.
You ran over to the edge and grabbed the railing. Travis followed closely behind so you wouldn't fall.
"It's beautiful in a dreadful way," a voice that you didn't recognize said.
You turned and Travis's father was standing about two meters from you.
He picked a flower off one of the bushes and gave it to you. You accepted it and smiled softly at the gesture.
"I'm guessing you know what's happened," you said sheepishly.
His father nodded and looked at the fiery village below. "I do. I could feel it."
"So do you also know what I'm here to talk to you about?"
He looked at you. "That . . . I'm not sure of."
"Okay then. I'll explain."
You explained that the king was now dead and that you were supposed to be the new ruler, but you didn't want to do it and was trying to decide on someone else to do it.
Travis's father looked puzzled. "You want me to be the new ruler of the Nether?"
You nodded and smiled, nervous he wouldn't accept the offer. "You seemed to be trustworthy, (based on what everyone said), and people seem to really like you. I think you would be fit and won't rule as harshly as my fa- the old king did."
He thought about it. "I'll only accept if this is for sure what you think would be right for the people."
You started to doubt from all the questioning. Travis noticed your hesitation and grabbed your hand discretely to soothe the nerves. You calmed down and answered firmly.
"I do believe this is right for the people. I give my authority to you."
Travis's father nodded and he bowed. "Thank you Princess Y/n."
You laughed at the title. "It didn't dawn on me that if my father was the king, I'd be a princess."
"Obviously," Travis whispered behind you.
You spun around and flicked him on the forehead. He flinched and rubbed the spot you hit. "Ouch."
"So," Travis's father smirked slightly. "Are you two dating?"
Your face flushed pink for the billionth time as you looked away. Travis hugged you from behind grinning.
"Of course!"
"Well then. Travis, you better treat her well," he said sternly. "Also, I'm Terry by the way."
You got out of Travis's hug. "It's nice to meet you Terry."
"Likewise, and if you run into any trouble with Travis, call me."
You giggled and Travis looked at his dad offended.
"Dad!"
