I'm changing perspectives, so I hope you don't mind.

Sorry for any mistakes.

"Okay, what happened?" Travis asked seriously.

You explained what happened in detail.

Travis stared at you. "The book. I told you!"

"You didn't tell me anything about the book!" You shouted at him.

"I told you it was dangerous!" Travis shouted back.

"No, you didn't!"

"Yes, I did! You just never listen!"

"Enough!" Lucinda yelled. "Fighting about this is getting us nowhere." She turned to
you. "Why did you take the book?"

"It felt special to me. Like I needed to find it." you explained.

Travis and Lucinda just stared at you.

"But why though?" Lucinda asked.

"I can't explain the feeling, but I need to have it," you responded. "Like an invisible force pulling me toward i-"

You were interrupted by a knock on the door.

"Hide," Travis whispered.

You and Lucinda both ducked behind a piece of furniture.

Travis opened the door.

It was Aphmau.

"Ah, Aphmau. Hi," Travis greeted.

"Hello," she beamed. "I was wondering if Lucinda and Y/n were here. I saw them run over here and they looked worried."

"Um," Travis looked slightly to where you and Lucinda were hiding. "Nope, not here."

"Oh. I swore I saw them run over h-" Aphmau was cut short.

You popped up from behind the couch. "Okay, you caught us we're here." You pulled Aphmau inside and closed the door.

"Is there something wrong?" Aphmau asked.

You looked at Lucinda and she nodded. "Yes, something is very wrong. I don't think you can help but I just wanted to tell you."

"What is it? You're scaring me," Aphmau looked her.

"First off, I'm a demon witch. My mother is a witch and my father is a demon. I don't know my father, but my mother passed away a couple years ago. My mother said they were married, but other than that I know nothing else."

Aphmau was taking in the words, then ushered you to continue.

"Time skip to now. So you know when I had to leave for a while?"

She nodded.

"I was going to The Calling. It's a thing that every demon is required to attend. So I went-"

"I went too!" Travis piped up.

"You're a demon too?" Aphmau asked shocked.

"Yes, but anyway. Sorry for interrupting, continue."

You proceeded to continued, "It was my first time going and witches are hated by demons, so you know they didn't like me. Apparently I was a guest of honor or something because they had me stay in the castle. I met," you motioned to Travis, "Travis here, and he was conspiring against me."

"I'm sorry. That Travis is different, not in a good way though," Travis apologized. I gave him a side hug.

"Anyway, yada yada yada, I stole a book, found I was going to be killed, got thrown in prison, public execution time was coming, Travis saved me, we escaped, and the king was mad."

"You were going to be killed?!" Aphmau's eyes were wide.

"Yes, but that's not super important though. They found me and are going to take me back to kill me. I just wanted to tell you, so if I disappear you know why," you smiled.

"Why are you smiling? This isn't good," Aphmau looked around her again.

"Aphmau?" Lucinda asked.

"Yes?"

"Why do you keep looking around?"

"Um, it feels like someone is here and watching us."

"What do you mean? I don't think anyone is her-" Travis stopped mid sentence.

You, Lucinda, and Travis all felt a chill go down your spines.

"Travis, what was that?" You asked slightly panicked.

"I don't know. I'm going to check on Dante real quick." He got up and went to Dante's room.

"I'm going to check the windows." Lucinda left.

It was just you and Aphmau.

"Aphmau, come on. Let's check the doors."

You both got up and checked the front door. Then headed to the back. You checked it and it was fine.

"Okay, Aphmau that's i-" You turned around and froze.

Right in front of the front door was Aphmau. She was still and had a sword pressed against her neck.

"Don't move or we'll chop her head off," the head guard seethed.

You were still stuck in your place and then Lucinda and Travis came into the room.

"Dante's in his room so he go- . . ." Travis's sentence trailed off as he saw Aphmau and the guards.

"Don't move!" I whispered to the both of them. They stopped as well.

"Unless you want your friend dead, I suggest you listen," the guard started. "If you want her back, you must give yourself up. You have two days to decide. If we don't see you within those two days, she's as good as dead."

With that, they opened a portal and took Aphmau with them.

Panic settled into all of you.

You looked at Lucinda and Travis.

"What are we gonna do?"
