6) Naina's madness

It was a normal day. All were going well, just then a blue colour bottle fell down and the cap of the bottle had broken. Now the bottle is of no use. Naina turned hearing the noise. She was shocked. She looked at the broken bottle for minutes. Sameer was shocked with her reaction.

"I'm sorry."

"A sorry will not justify this Sameer Maheswari!"

Sameer was shocked with her behaviour. She never called him with his full name.

"I will buy you a new one." He tried to pacify her but....

"I need this bottle only!"

"It is just a bottle. Why are you creating a scene?" His patience cracked.

"It can be just a bottle to you, not me."

"Is it so important to you?"

"Why I need to tell you? Who you to me? If I tell also you won't understand."

He was silent. He just looked at her blankly. While she continued shouting.

"You will never understand other's feelings!"

He didn't utter a word. He just showed his palm signalling her to stop and rushed out of the class. That's when she came to sense. She was about to call him but her ego is not letting her. Her eyes were moist. She took the broken bottle. She hugged it and sat on the bench. Tears started making it's way. She lied on the desk with her hand as her pillow. She don't know when she slept. When she opened her eyes, preeti was sitting near her.

"Madam finished sleeping?" asked preeti. Naina didn't answer her. Her eyes searched only for that one person and she succeeded in it. He saw her. Their eyes met but he turned his face and smiled at pandit's joke. While preeti asked her if she has fever in a concerned voice. Preeti touched her forehead. It was normal. Preeti sighed in relief.

"Naina what happened to your bottle?" asked preeti eyeing at the bottle in her lap. Naina looked at the bottle. Her eyes became moist. She couldn't control her tears. She rushed to restroom. She cried there. She came to class after 5 mins. Preeti asked her what happened for what naina brushed away the topic.

From then onward naina started coming lately. Sameer was confused, he was the one who supposed to be angry. But he don't know that she couldn't face him in guilt.

One day anand sir advised them that nowadays children don't understand their parent's sacrifice. They are misusing their freedom. Love at this age is just a attraction. So don't hurt your parents for just a attraction. Anand sir will teach Bhagavat Gita 1 hr after school and naina used to attend it. He often tell the students at that class that he trust them so much. Naina decided to not to break his trust at any cost.

1 week passed and intramural competitions started and also book fair was held at PVKM. Naina got price in so many competitions.

Naina and preeti was examining the book fair. Naina was busy searching for her favourite Geronimo Stilton books while preeti felt bored and started talking to naina how she hate books. While naina asked her to shut her mouth and sit in a corner and preeti sat near the window, she was watching the happenings in the school. Everyone was busy working as today is the price distribution. Preeti called out for naina seeing something while naina asked her not to disturb. Seeing her not coming she pulled her towards the window and showed a old man in Kurta wearing glasses with a smile on his face talking to sameer.

"Who is that old man?"

"He is the trustee of our school, Jaiprakash Maheswari."

"Really? Why is he talking to sameer?"

"He is his grandfather. You don't know this?"

"I don't know."

"I think he came as a chief guest for today's price distribution."

Naina looked at the old man and sameer. He share a nice bond with him. She thought how he told her one time that he love his nanu so much. So this is his nanu. She don't know but she was attracted to his nanu so much. She decided to ask him sorry. She ran away from the library muttering preeti to buy the books she selected which preeti hardly remember. She went to the place where he was standing but he was not there. She searched him everywhere. At last he was at ground under a tree. She called him. He turned.

"I am sorry. All the things I told that day was out of anger only not from my heart. I was not in my sense. I didn't talk to you these days as I couldn't face you in shame."

"I know."

"Will you forgive me?"

"I forgave you 1 week before itself. When you woke up from your sleep and saw me. Your eyes reflected guilt. I was confused that why you didn't came early and now I got answer for that too." Saying so he left the place. Now she was so happy that he forgave her. She couldn't control her happiness. Now she is free from her guilt. She ran after him. After thanking him she ran to preeti and hugged her tightly.

That evening, naina got price from Jaiprakash Maheswari. But for naina's eyes he is sameer's nanu.

Days passed. After that incident both sameer naina didn't talk to each other. They both weren't angry at each other but they don't know why they didn't talk. But inside her heart, naina didn't forgive sameer for breaking her bottle. Adding fuel to this, kamya started coming early to school with naina.

One day, boys were playing pen fight. The match is between sameer and pandit. A few girls asked boys if they could join them and they accepted. Sameer got 3 points and Pandit also 3. Now sameer need 1 point to win. All were seeing curiously when suddenly mitali shouted sameer sameer sameer to cheer him. Hearing her shouting, naina drifted her eyes from note to them. What she saw was mitali whispering something in sameer's ears to make him win. Naina don't know why she was feeling uneasy and angry at sameer.

That day kamya complained mam that boys and some girls were playing pen fight. So mam gave naina the work of giving name list of persons playing pen fight. For what she accepted the work happily and looked at mitali smirking.
