22) 'Where are you?!'

"She is absent and swati too didn't know anything. Naina didn't pick up her call too."

His hopeful face fell immediately. He muttered a thank you and was lost in thoughts.

"From when you started telling these things?" Munna glared at him with folded hands against his chest.

"Huh?!"

"From when you started thanking me?"

"....."

He sat near him and put an arm around him. "Don't worry bhai. She will be back. We are here. We will help you."

"Yes yes. We will." Pandit supported him and put an arm around sameer.

Sameer put up a fake smile.

The raindrops hit hard on the roof. Frogs croaked. Kids were sailing paper boat being deaf to their mother's scolding. Some were playing with the rain. Some remembering their past.

The cold wind blew into the room through the opened window as he shivered. His eyes reflected despondency as he gazed at the dark black sky. He searched her but she was no where to seen. She was hidden inside the clouds just like his girl. Atleast she knew where she had hidden. But he didn't knew where his girl was hidden.

It's been 2 weeks he had seen her, listened to her lectures, heard her melodious laugh, that red nose, her everything.

He tried his hard to know her being but all went in vain. Preeti was too away for 2 weeks for some family function. Swati too didn't know anything.

It was making him mad. He decided to check in her house. But munna and pandit asked him to wait for some more days. Now he decided to ask in the school office. She must have informed them.

His eyes were shaken. The raindrops hit the window and slapped him making him wet. He didn't bother about it and was standing there.

Lifeless.

An unknown fear encircled him whenever he thought of her. His heart etched. Making him to think that she is gone.

The moist layer around his eyes started flowing freely. Loneliness embraced him as he glanced at the bed which now contains the things related to her.

The tag which read,
Some people dream of success. While others wake up and work hard for it. Wish you will be one of them. And don't forget to hold my hand throughout it.

He smirked staring at her gift. He took it in his hand and traced those letters. A drop of tear fell on it. He wiped it and whispered.

"But you are not here. How can I hold your hand? Where are you? I will surely kill you once you return. Please return."

"I'm afraid. Let's go back to class."

"Then you will never get to know about her." Munna dragged him to the office.

Once entered, sameer pushed munna forward. Munna nodded and started his interrogation with office staff.

"We will check and tell dear." Munna nodded and informed sameer that they will tell in few moments.

"Manoj!" The staff called.

Sameer stood near him resting on the wall. His heart was thumping very hard. He closed his eyes and bit his lower lip. That same unknown fear encircled him. A lone tear escaped as he squeezed his eyelids.

He wiped it and looked forward for the answer.

"Naina Agarwal. Right?"

"Yes ma'am." Munna replied impatiently as he looked at sameer who was in complete nervousness.

"That girl....." Sameer eyes widened as his ears were sharp. His breath fastened. He clutched munna's shoulder. Munna placed his hand on his, smiled and bobbed his head horizontally.

"She got TC."

"What?!" Munna was shocked.

There was no reaction on sameer's face. His grip on munna's shoulder loosened.

"Sorry. I didn't get you.?" He asked in a low voice.

"She got Transfer Certificate. It means she left the school. No more questions." The staff replied irritated and got busy in her work.

Sameer boomed out of the office. His speed slowed down as his lips quivered. He closed his mouth with his palm and swallowed the cry as he rubbed his neck.

He started running and jumped on his bike and left the school being deaf to munna and watchman's call.

"Beta! You came so early. Is there anything wrong?"

"N-n-no...T-t-he--r...." He said in a shaky voice as his lips went in all directions. He couldn't control anymore. He rushed to his room.

He locked to door and closed his mouth but it let out without his permission.

A worried nanu was calling him outside his room. Sameer rushed to the washroom and opened the faucet.

"He must be urgent for something." Nanu relived and left the place.

Inside sameer was letting him out and was covering it by water's sound.

After 15 mins, he came out and was changed into his night suit. His eyes were puffy and red. His cheeks with dried tears. His long hair, now messy.

He lied on the bed and was staring at the ceiling blankly. After 5 mins or so, he gained his consciousness and pondered about naina. His naina.

Still his heart wasn't accepting the truth. He pinched himself. It pained. Yes, it pained. The truth pained.

The mere thought of naina no more in his life was doing something in him. It burned his heart.

Why was he thinking like that? She just left the school. Not the city. This gave him some hope. He felt anger at her for leaving the school without even informing any of them.

He stood up suddenly and took strides to the window. It was pouring heavily, so his eyes. The moon was also hidden. His hope vanished once he got to know that his chandni is no more light his life.

Every now and then, his mind was asking him to check her house. Now he decided to listen to it.

The soil was moist.
His eyes were moist.

Rain was pouring heavily.
His tears were flowing heavily.

The moon was hidden.
His girl was hidden.

Fate smirked. Even nature is playing with them.

Will his hope to see her in her house be true? Or............

Hey folks! Sorry for the short update. I will not be able update the next week. So decided to give it today. I was able to write upto this only. Will not be very active the next week. Exams are on the way.😭
