"Where were you?!" Preeti shouted at Naina. "Do you know how scared we were?!"

Naina frowned in confusion. "We?"

Preeti pointed to the couch. Naina's eyes widened, she ran and hugged Swati.

"It's been a long time..." Naina's voice cracked slightly.

"8 years!" Swati said with tears lining up in her eyes. "Why? Can't you atleast inform us?!" She smacked Naina.

Naina glanced at Preeti. Preeti came a step forward, "That, Swati. I will tell later." She said in a low tone.

"Okay. By the way, Naina!" Swati called. "Where were you?"

"Haan! Answer!" Preeti joined with Swati. Naina rolled her eyes and parted her lips.

He fisted his hand and his eyes turned red. His eyes were moist. How could someone's life be so cruel? She didn't have someone by her side too.

"Sameer." She called in a low pitch staring at him.

"Hn?" He came out of his thoughts. "Really?"

"Do you feel that I am lying?"

"No. Not at all. Never!" He proclaimed with a little anger in his voice. She smiled and looked down.

"Then?" He broke the silence.

"After the death of my bua ji, no one was there to support me. I stopped speaking to anyone. As I told already, even after moving to USA, we were not allowed use phone. In college, I spoke to a few. I became an introvert. Only books were my close friends. I studied hard. I was working in USA. I got transfer to India. My sister and father moved along with me as my family was running with my earnings. And here I am.............. "

He was silent for a moment. "What happened today?"

She sighed heavily. "Some relatives visited our house. As the topic of my sister's marriage came into discussion,......it drifted to me.....and--and t-they insulted me on m-m-my............."

Tears rushed to her eyes. She felt a rough skin over her small soft one. It completely hid the back of her palm. It slowly held her hand.

Sameer pressed her palm. "Sssh!"

She could hear those unspoken pacifying words of him. They sat like that unknowingly about how the hours passed, under the moon on a winter night with each other's companion.

Her mind was filled with the present and his presence. His mind was filled with future. She was thinking about how to live the rest of her life without him. He was thinking about how to get her back and live hundreds of years with her, only she and he!

"Let's sleep. It's already 2!" He exclaimed seeing his wrist watch and also cracked the soothing silence.

"But where?"

"In car!" He shrugged and got up. He extended his hand after dusting his clothes. She blinked and bit her lower lip.

"No, thanks." She mumbled and got up by herself. Her leg got tripped. She expected herself to be in the ground the next second and she was ready to feel the pain. But before all that, a hand reached out and held her arm preventing her from the pain. Maybe this was a resemblance of future! Him protecting her with all of his!

"Tha......."

"No need!" He snapped at her and smirked realising that she was again into her 'forget-me-Sameer' mode. He left her and paced to the car. She followed him, taking baby steps. He opened the back door for her. He rested himself in the front seat after she settled in the back.

"Don't worry. The tea shop owner knows me well. He will be awake the whole night. I asked him to keep an eye on our car." Sameer assured her.

"Okay."

"Have this." He pulled out a blanket out of his bag.

"You have everything!"

"Yep!"

"Where would you sleep if me and my car wasn't here?"

"Obviously on the grass." He shrugged and covered himself with a blanket and adjusted to a comfortable position. "To your luck, I have two blankets today!"

He closed his eyes. He opened it after a moment. She was still staring at him. He rolled his eyes and ordered. "Lie!" She lied down immediately.

"Aur haan, Naina!" She raised her eyebrows. "I have set alarm which will sing a song at 5. We should get up by that."

"Hmm..." She hummed and closed her eyes. He watched her for few minutes until sleep took over him.

Naina woke up hearing some music. The sun was on its way to peek into earth. She smiled at it and drifted her gaze to the handsome man sleeping. His cheeks had some tear stain.

"So, he cried?" She thought.

His lips were dry and hairs were messy. But still he looked like the gorgeous man in this world. The golden sun rays added to his beauty.

His lips were stretching and contracting as he mumbled in her sleep, "Nainheudbb...a....plej...dindhejdjbdu.....don't.....hdjdkrnnrh.....leave.........menjjddbfhfuhdn...........kzhganpleeeeeeseeeee......."

The slight smile on her face vanished. She was taken aback. She wanted to hug him tight and assure him that she will never leave him! But she couldn't. She smiled and looked out of the window.

Her gaze again fell on him. As he adjusted his position, his hair fell on his face. She felt an urge to comb it with her fingers. Her hand reached to move it slightly trying hard not to wake him. But failed miserably.

Once Sameer opened his eyes, she transformed into a statue, her eyes fixated with his. She took her hand away rolling her eyes and busied herself watching the sunrise.

"See! Sunrise!" She screamed knowing that he was staring at her.

"What was you upto?"

Her heart beat stopped for a second. She was in scarce of words to answer him. She plastered a cheesy smile on her face and told, "Let's go out and see..."

"Haan haan! Okay!" He said a little sarcastically as she got out of the car. He touched his hair and grinned. Tint of red appeared his face.

She strode with hue of crimson adorning her cheeks. She slapped her forehead cutely.

"Boom!"

She gasped out of fear. She sighed as she turned around. "Pagal!" She scolded him and he chortled.

"I am!" He said coolly and walked before her. She grinned shaking her head and followed him.

She stood beside him. They both viewed the sunrise with admiration reflecting in their eyes. The dark blue sky was changed into bright yellow one with the appearance of sun. So does his presence in her life. The view looked breathtaking. Birds' chirping indicated that it was morning. It added beauty to the serene scene. But nothing looked more beautiful without each other's presence.

"Isn't this amazing?" She said her eyes fixated on the view.

"Yep! But not more than you." Came the reply from him. She immediately looked at him. He looked at her. Both looked deep into each other's eyes. Rays of sunlight fell on them. Finally, the sun peeked into this world. Maybe this was the beginning of a new chapter!
