______________

It was the time of ending winter. The sun was increasing its heat day by day, making the people exhausted. Everyone was working actively and was involved in their work. But Sameer could not. His thought was drifting towards Naina who was extremely silent these days.

He remembered the day when her father arrived and rushed her home. He was so rude with her. No wonder, he was rude since school days. But his heart was thumping fast and was indicating him, something is wrong. The door flew open and an over-excited Munna with flushed Swati came into his vision.

"Hello bhai!" Munna's shriek brought Sameer out of his daze.

"Hai...." He said a little awkwardly unaware of when they came. "Tum kyon aaye?" (Why did you come?)

"Kyoon kar? Mujhe nahin aana chaahiye?"(Why? I should not come?) Munna turned away in huff.

"No...no..not like that! Maine abhee poochha, tum kis uddeshy se aaye ho." (I just asked, for what purpose you came) Sameer explained and made Munna face him.

"Theek hai theek kai...let it be....Now let me tell why I came!" Munna exclaimed in joy.

"Ssh!" Swati shushed him while Sameer chuckled at how this boy hadn't even changed a bit.

"Sameer!" Swati extended her hand along with Munna with a card decorated beautifully. "You are invited for our marriage!"

Sameer's eyes widened and a grin appeared his face. He hugged Munna and screamed, "Congrats bro!" Munna reciprocated it and Swati stood, flushing.

"Vaise, you are inviting me?!" Sameer's eyes became sharp and rage filled them.

"Yeh hamaare liye ek bada aashchary hai. I told na, Swati's family is searching rishta for her, it is me!"

"Really?!"

"Haan! And, this is not the main card. It is made by Swati, especially for you and bha......" Munna stopped.

"And?" Sameer raised his eyebrow and questioned.

"And....Na...."

Before he could complete, a chirpy yet calm voice rang in the room, "Swati!" And, there she stood, Naina, donned in a green churidar with pink pyjamas and shawl. Sameer's breath was caught in the mid way. He hadn't seen her from morning. She was wearing churidars more these days, making him fall for her more.

Her hair was flowing freely with some curls at the end. The pink bindi which adorned her forehead, caused him to ho weak. The sleepy yet mesmerising eyes caught him in her saree's tahaband (mundhanai / apron). The red yet not flushed cheeks and the pale yet magnificent face made him dizzy.

"Naina!" Swati pulled her best friend into an embrace while Munna and Sameer stood watching the duo.

"Bhabhi..." Munna bit his tongue. Naina gazed at Sameer. Their eyes were locked like two puzzle pieces. Her eyes were boring its sorrow into his. His eyes were soothing hers.

"Mujhe maaf kar do, Naina." (I am sorry, Naina.) Munna apologised and his face lost all its colour. He was used to calling her 'bhabhi' but this was strange to him. It hurt him seeing his friends in pain.

Naina gave a weak smile and interrogated, "Kya baat hai? Dho anay log saath aaye?" (What's the matter? You two have come together?)

"Umm....Naina....." Swati began and signalled Munna to tell. "Yahan!"
