My name is Lance McClain. I'm a normal guy, or as normal as a 17 year old teenager can be.
My life is... well, complicated. Ever since my mom died my father hasn't been the same, and I'm basically in charge of my five year old sister now. My dad doesn't make much money and, when he gets paid, he wastes it drinking at the club with his friends. I'm still underage, but I got a job at a small library in a forgotten place in town. We don't have a lot of clients, but I find it cozy and I make enough money to feed my sister.
Regarding high school, I'm a senior and my grades are pretty good, even though I don't spend a lot of time studying. As of my social life, I have my little group of friends and that's enough for me.
And I'm very shy. A lot, I mean it. Some of my friends are extroverts, but that's because they can get along with others easily without even trying. Like Hunk, who's really charming.
Maybe that's why I don't have a girlfriend. I'm so shy that I haven't been able to tell my crush I like her, and she's been my crush for almost three years.
Her name is Allura, and she has the most beautiful white hair, dark skin, and a bubbly personality. There's rumors that she's dating someone, so I knew that I had to get over her, but I just couldn't.
So you see, my life was pretty monotone. It was, until I met Keith.
It was a rainy day and my shift at the library was about to start. I left my house without an umbrella because, even though most people would hate to get their hair ruined, I enjoy the feeling of raindrops against my skin. It took me about twenty minutes to get to the library. I walked looking down, listening to music and, after going through a couple of parks and dark alleys, I arrived.
The owner of the shop, Mrs. Smith, didn't mind hiring someone who's not experienced because she was friends with my mom and knew what my sister and I were going through. I said hi to her and started organizing books, which is what I was doing when I heard the bell at the door. My first thought was something like YAY, A CLIENT! but then I calmed down and thought it would probably be Marie, Mrs. Smith's friend, who always comes by when she's got a rumor to spread. I continued working.
A couple of minutes after, I noticed a hand on my shoulder.
"Excuse me, could you tell me where the fantasy books are?"
When I turned around I saw a short boy with long black hair, pale skin and dark blue eyes.
"Sure, I was just organizing them. What are you looking for exactly?"
And just like that, we started a never-ending conversation about books. After a while, he got his book and sat on a table to check it out.
I told him my name was Lance, and that he could come to me if he needed something else. He smiled at me before going back to his book.
Mrs. Smith winked at me from her desk.
The boy was laughing as he turned the pages. I, smiling as well, went back to my job.
It was time to close now. The anonymous boy had just left the library a few moments before so I said goodbye to the owner, put my earphones on and walked through the streets on my way home.

Alright pals here it is,,,
This is a story I wrote for two of my OCs, Katie and Jack, about 5? years ago,,, and around a year ago I started translating it into English (not my first language, I'm pretty much self taught so I'm sorry for any typos) and made it Klance because I thought it would be more interesting
So yeah, here's The Bookstore, I hope y'all enjoy it (also feel free to leave comments if you like it I always try to respond to them even when I'm not updating as frequently)
