The bookstore (epilogue/Keith's POV)

Dating your best friend is weird as fuck, honestly. But in a good way.
The truth is that I didn't plan on going to Lance's house that night. And when I saw him at the door, I almost fled. I wasn't mad at him, the opposite. We had kissed (quite passionately, I might add) and I suspected I had some kind of feelings for him.
It took me a long time to be ready to admit it but fortunately Lance still felt the same.

After a couple of weeks of wonderful dates with my amazing boyfriend we found ourselves at my backyard one night, kissing under the moonlight. Lance had prepared a picnic for us, but after having dinner we decided to stay there because the weather was nice and the sky looked beautiful.
"Thanks for dinner, babe" I said, and kissed his knuckles.
"Huh, babe? That one's new" he replied, bringing me closer. He just loved to tease me, classic Lance.
"Oh shut up" I laughed.
Then, we started kissing. I pinned him down, I was gonna have my sweet sweet revenge. Lance's hands were on my back, holding me tight, and his lips moved in sync with mine. I loved the way he held me, like he didn't want me to run away anymore. I pulled away and kissed his jaw, his neck, behind his ear.
I lay down next to him and rested my head on his chest, letting him play with my hair. And after a little bit, he pulled me onto his lap and kissed me again, softly this time.
We were still kissing when a familiar car with blinding lights pulled up on the driveway. Shit.
"And what is it that you're doing, little brother?" Shiro asked me, seriously.
A tall guy stepped out of the car. It was Adam, Shiro's boyfriend.
"Aww, let them be, Tak" Adam calls him Tak "they're not kids, and they're not doing anything wrong."
Lance stood still by my side, holding my hand, and his face was all red.
"Damn it, Lance, you promised" Shiro told him, but I could tell he wasn't actually mad, and Adam was almost laughing.
My brother put an arm around his boyfriend and waited patiently for an explanation.
"I promised I'd treat him great, that's it" Lance finally answered. "Besides, it didn't look like Keith was against kissing me."
He laughed and now it was me who had a red face.
Shiro's expression softened.
"Everything's good, Keith?"
"Yeah" I looked at Lance "everything's perfect."
They were about to go in the house, but I stopped them.
"Oh, and I'm gonna be the one to tell mom and dad about this when they come back from their trip. Unless you want me to tell them Adam has been staying overnight."
They laughed.
"Your brother knows what he's doing, Tak. Shall we go upstairs?"
They did and Lance and I were left alone, sitting on the ground. He looked at me and I felt like I was melting, his hand was still in mine.
"Can I kiss you good night?" He asked me.
"Of course you can, silly."
If I had the choice, I would never pull away.
"See you tomorrow" we both said.

I walked to my room with a happy stupid smile on my face. Shiro's door was closed and I couldn't hear anything, but I walked faster anyway.
Finally in bed, I grabbed my phone. I had an unread text message.

It is technically tomorrow, so I'm allowed to say this.

Say what? That's all the message said. I heard a noise outside and looked through my window. Lance was still there.
"What did you wanna say?" I smiled widely.
"I think I love you, Keith."
