Bonding moment (part 2)

Keith woke up hearing voices coming from the kitchen.
"Keith was piloting and... lasers... I fell first but he... then Keith hit the wall..." it was Lance's voice, Keith couldn't catch every word. He tried to get up and go to the kitchen with the rest of the paladins, but he had a terrible headache. Keith put both his hands on his head as he tried to remember why he was in so much pain.
We were attacked, he remembered, Lance must have taken us back here.
Keith tried to get up again, this time he succeeded. "Fuck" he muttered in pain "I need to see him" Keith said, desperate to get the full story.

Lance was explaining to his friends how Keith helped him when he fell and then the tables had turned. He had almost finished when Keith walked very slowly into the kitchen.
He must be in pain, Lance thought.
Shiro and Pidge were asking questions but Keith wasn't listening. He was looking at Lance and suddenly he remembered the feeling of lips against his cheek. He was barely conscious then, but he was sure it happened. Keith blushed, but Lance didn't notice.
"Hey, Mullet" Lance said with a smirk "Are you feeling better?"
"Huh... yeah, I guess. I don't remember most of the things that happened, tho"
"Let's have breakfast together" interrupted Allura "Lance will tell you the story."

"So I hit the wall and you had to deal with everything by yourself?" Keith asked.
"Yeah, but I managed to get us out of there" said Lance, as he put a spoon full of space goo into his mouth.
They finished their breakfasts and helped Hunk do the dishes before leaving the kitchen.
"I need some training" Shiro announced "Pidge, Hunk, will you join me?"
The paladins agreed. Coran and Allura left too, saying that they had to test the castle's defenses.
Keith decided to clean the table as he didn't know how to start a conversation. Lance was sitting on a chair, looking directly at him.
"Does it hurt?" Lance questioned.
"A little. Was I wearing my helmet?" Keith replied, but he didn't look at Lance.
"Yes, you were. I only took it off once I left you in your bedroom."
"Oh... so it was you who carried me there. I thought I had heard your voice"
Lance's face turned red and he looked down. "Were you awake?" He asked.
Keith finally turned to him "Barely" and after a few seconds he added "You... kissed me?"
Lance stood up abruptly "Let's go swimming!" he said, almost screaming, before running away.
"Hey! Wait! Lance!" Keith followed him. Lance was already swimming by the time Keith arrived to the pool.
Swimming helped Lance calm down. His family lived near the ocean, so he grew up loving the sea, swimming every single day. It made sense that his first instinct when he was nervous or just in a bad mood was jumping into the water. Keith didn't really feel like swimming, so he sat by the pool admiring his friend's swimming speed.
After a while, Lance stopped and swam towards him. "Get in here" he said with a smile.
"I don't really feel like it. Besides, I don't have a swimsuit" Keith replied.
They didn't say anything for a minute. Then, Keith spoke again. "Lance, you kissed me?"
Lance swam away.
"Lance!" But Lance wasn't paying attention.
"Dammit, Lance. I didn't want to do this" Keith stood up and began to undress. At least, Keith said to himself, Lance isn't facing me. He didn't want Lance to see him taking his clothes off as he wasn't too comfortable with his body. Still, he finished undressing and, with only his underwear on, he jumped into the pool.
Lance turned around when he heard the splashing and saw Keith was next to him. He blushed again, Keith looked... good.
"Lance" Keith grabbed his arm so he couldn't swim away this time "What's wrong?"
"I kissed you. I'm sorry" Lance answered.
"You have nothing to be ashamed of, Lance." Keith promised "So, why did you kiss me?"
"Because I thought you wouldn't notice and I really wanted to do it"
Keith smiled and lifted Lance's face, forcing him to look at Keith in the eyes.
"Why didn't you kiss me on the lips then?"
"Because... wait, what?" Keith let out a subtle laugh before grabbing Lance's face with both hands.
"I asked you a question" he said, really close to Lance's mouth.
"You weren't awake"
"I am now" Keith whispered.
They smiled and their lips met for the first time.
