IT WAS NOT A YEAR OR A YEAR AND A HALF LATER THAT THE TWO MANAGED TO COME TO TEARMS WITH THEIR GREIF, BUT INSTEAD TWO. They did not nessecarilly get over it, but instead learn to work and live with it. Above their heads they could still see the looming shadows of their insolence and results of it.

The date was October tenth. Snow coated the ground and more white flakes fell freashy from the sky. A thirteen year old Florence was on lunch break. She choose to spend the allotted time kneeling by the familiar stone memorial.

With a rice ball in one hand she used the other to trace the name of her brother, Koshi. She could still recall the moment he died as if it was moments ago.

Florence closed her eyes, her mind taking her back.

It was cold and dark. The only alotted light was the moon above, but even that was half covered by clouds.

Florence seemed to run with pep beside her brother and father. They were older, more weary of the situation. Why had she been taken along?

As they reached enemy territory the trio slowed to a creeping pace, Florence stumbled on a rock, falling to the dirt. Roughly her father hauled her up in fear, what had she done.

An explosion near by blew them back, she hits a tree. With closing eyes she can see a group of approaching enemies. Florence tries to stand but her ears are ringing and her balance is gone.

Her brother, wobbly on his feet still managed to stand. A bone was sticking from his arm. It wasn't supposed to be like that.

He dove at the enemies, one handed and was easily tossed back again. Tears welled in Florence's eyes what was happening? Everything was happening so fast? Her mind rolled.

She looked to her left, searching for her father. He wasn't there. She turned to her right and saw a bodily form. On one of jaggedly shooting tree stumps her father's body was perched.

He looked to be sleeping and Florence breathed a sigh of relief he was ok. Everything was ok.

As the three leaf ninja played unmoving most of the approaching enemies turned back, assuming them to be dead. One choose to keep going.

The ninja threw a shuriken at her father. She watched at it struck his leg, why didn't he wake up?

Satisfied the enemy moved forwards to Florence. He looked at her as she started to stand, everything around her spun, it was like a form of vertigo. She fell back landing out of breath.

The ninja looming over her and started talking but her ears rung to loud to hear. He held a kunai at her, its metallic edge glinted in the low light and she began to shake. Why was she here?

The ninja sat on her abdomen pinning her down and dragged the kunai up her face. Her eye! Her cheek! Her face! She opened her mouth to scream but she couldn't hear if anything came out.

Suddenly the ninja was pushed off her by a propelling force, her brother! He turned and yelled at her, motion for her to run.

Adrenaline pulsated through her veins and with only one working eye she tried to stand and run.

She stumbled and fell, scraping her hands and knees, but eventually she passed out.

Florence blinked. How long had she been sitting here? No, how long had she been laying here? Her body was strung on the large stone and her head laid on her arm.

Thre sun was already past its highest point and immediately Florence knees she was late for work. In haste she stood and brushed off the snow. As she looked up she met the eyes of an amused Kakashi Hatake.

"Sleeping beauty" he teased, lips lifting ever so slightly.

"Kashi" the girl grumbled annoyed.

They nodded at each other before Florence breezed past to the hospital where she trained to become a medical ninja. Her long hair fluttered around her contrasting her surely red cheeks.

Why didn't he wake her? Gosh.

As she entered the hospital not only did she promise to never be late again, but also swear to never skip training again. She was usually a diligent and punctual person, so her mentor excused her absence.

The head medic only shook his head and waved at her to follow him. For the rest of the day and into the evening she would help heal patients until she ran out of chakra.

Florence would then walk the short distance to her home. It was dark and felt cold as always. Her mother sat by the fireplace silently, she had been that way for two years.

With a sorrowful sigh Florence once again felt overcome by sadness. It seemed to happen everytime she entered her house, it was all to remenicent of them. With a numb, detached feeling she laid on her bed to sleep, not even bothering to change.
