"𝐇𝐞𝐲" 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐝, 𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢'𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐮𝐠. "I've missed my ninja babies" thick, exaggerated tears streamed down the kunoichi's cheeks.

Naruto was quick to hug back. The boy could count the number of hugs he'd been given within his lifetime with too much ease. It was safe to say the exuberant boy had grown attached the older woman as if she were filling his mother's void.

"I'm not a baby, I'm going to be Hokage ya know!" Naruto grumbled with a false sort of anger.

Though Florence merely laughed at his reply, it wasn't a hearty laugh and the blonde could tell she was different in a sad sort of way. To him atleast it was clear she had changed in their short time apart.

A frown slung onto his lips and for once Naruto remained uncharacteristically silent. Worried.

"Welcome back Florence- sensei" Sakura politely spoke, pulling back from the light green haired womans hug. The genin had missed her teacher and was eager to learn.

Out of all three students Sasuke seemed the least pleased by the hug. Since the beginning of the hold the raven haired male struggled against her grasp, though it remained tight like iron.

"Don't worry, I even missed you Sasuke" she spoke softly, her hand ruffling into his oynx hair.

His eyes lifted up to hers, daring her to continue for another second. Though as their eyes met he was slightly caught off guard at her expression. Florence held a half grown smile, its edges quivered, threatening to fall and her eyes seemed hollowed out.

He had seen that look before.

The green haired woman took a step back, her eyes surfing over her babies. Just coming out from the forest of death had them looking worse for wear.

Beside her Kakashi came forth, he spoke with Sasuke for a moment before leading the visibly tired boy away to seal the mark on his neck.

Florence's brows furrowed in worry, was it against the rules to heal her students before preliminaries?

Then again, even if it was, when was she one to stick by the rules for those she loved?

"I'm sorry I wasn't here before" she sighed pressing a golden glowing hand to Naruto's face, healing a cut on his cheek.

There was a deep unending pit within her stomach, it was filled with dread and guilt. She was so selfish, problematic and conceited, they didn't deserve to be stuck with her. These genin deserved better.

Florence felt like a wolf in sheeps clothing. Not even her students knew what really lied behind her positive facade.

Sakura who had stood to Florence's left had wandered off, starting a low argument with Ino. Even wounded and tired the two were ferocious as ever.

"Are you ok?" Naruto asked, his voice almost afraid. He was scared she would disappear again and was worried for the look on her face.

He had already lost his parents and now that the blonde had found her, he was growing increasingly terrified than ever to be alone again.

The edge of her lip twitched and her eyes blinked a little too fast in an attempt to shield away from tears. "Don't worry" Florence whispered, her voice was so soft like a melodic tune barely above a whisper almost breezing by their ears.

The blonde pulled the woman into a tight hug, before pulling away again. He was still worried.

It was only a few moments later that Kakashi returned, a begrudged and pained looking Sasuke. The Uchiha had been through a lot the past few days.

"Goodluck" Florence encouraged, watching as the preliminary matches started.

She felt Kakashi's arm slither around her waist, pulling her into his chest and his chin moved to rest on the top of her head.

"They love you Florence, I hope you know that" his arms tightened, squeezing her. There she was blood and bone within his arms, he was so scared of losing her.

A disbelieving scoff pushed past her lips like a cerulean wave. "Even Sasuke?" It was a sarcastic question, that onyx haired boy loved no one.

A deep rumble rolled within Kakashi's chest as he held in a laugh. "Even Sasuke".

The words of confidence did nothing but make the pit in Florence's stomach widen. It was like a black hole slowly sucking her up.

"Come on" Kakashi pulled away to walk towards the arena, "let's go watch them fight".

The light green haired woman nodded, following her lover towards the group of spectators.
