"Hey Naruto" Florence was able to tear her arm away from Jiraiya's hold. A more angry than happy smile laced her face as she peered at the genin.

The trio walked out of Konoha's gates, the wood creaked, closing behind them. Now Florence really couldn't run back (not that the old sage would let her).

In almost an awkward silence they journeyed forth, Jiraya catching sight of waterhole strayed away in hopes to find some research.

Florence's nose scrunched up, she didn't like the old perv much and now she was stuck with him for who knows how long. The kunoichi's gaze slung down on the blonde beside her, atleast Naruto was here.

It was selfish but his bustling energy always made her feel a little better.

"Are you ok Florence- sensei?" He asked her once more. The blonde had seen her empty expression before, in the eyes of the villagers as they always stared to him. Cold and void of emotion.

Naruto was still young, he was a child scared of loosing one of the few who cared for him. He was worried she didn't like him anymore.

A soft smile moulded on her lips, the whites of her teeth peeking through. "I'm ok" she whispered, softly reaching out to ruffle his golden locks.

The knuckleheads heart raced, he knew it was a lie just like the last time she answered.

"I'm tired of people lying to me" he huffed fists clenching "you don't have to fake it around me".  Naruto was scared.

Florence nodded, locks of her hair slinking over her sholder. "Ok" she whispered a solemnly, though even she knew that was a lie.

Perhaps the woman had been pretending for so long she had forgotten who her real self was. Though the thought only added more turmoil to her hectic mind.

Jiraiya peeked out from around a tree, the natural hot spring beside him sadly desolate. Instead of returning to his group members the sage couldn't help but observe their interaction.

The corner of his lips rose slightly, he was confident this little training vacation would do Florence good. Plus it was always a benefit to be accompanied by a medic.

"Hey" he spoke heartedly coming up behind the two and wrapping arms around their shoulders. "Why dont we find a nice hot spring to stay the night?"

Florence rolled her eyes, she really wasnt in the mood to deal with him. "Fine" there was no way she would use a hot spring with the old perv on the premises.

The old man merely chuckled, pushing them forward. He chatted aimlessly to Naruto his arm still slung across the kunoichi's sholder. The appendage tugged on her hair slightly, it was uncomfortable.

"Hey, pervy sage, how do you know Florence- sensei?" Naruto had come up with the Jiraya's nickname only a few minuets ago and it suited the sage too well.

Jiraya's smile faltered for a moment, his eyes surfing over to loom on the quiet woman.

She stared at him daringly, light tinted brows furrowed down to shadow her pastel hued eyes.

"Well" the sage started, "I met her a good ten years ago, she was around your age then, give or take a few years. . ."

That was another thing Florence disliked about Jiraya, the old man simply didn't care, he was too easy going. She rolled her eyes, tilting her head to the side.

A darkened blush spread on her face as the mans story strolled on. It was embarrassing to say the least.

"Anyways, I met her on the rocks overlooking Konoha, you know the big mountains?" Jiraya hesitated, waiting for Naruto's response. His hands were outstretched mid motion as he drew Konoha's outline with his fingers.

The blonde nodded, enticed in the story, curiosity aflutter in his eyes.

"Well, it was nighttime and she was scuffed up from training with Tsunade, all tired looking and everything". His brows furrowed, eyes wrinkling as he smiled recalling her. "She was knelt by a deer trying to heal its wound. Honestly Tsunade probably wounded it for proactive training" a dry chuckle fell from Jiraya's lips.

Naruto remained uncharacteristically quiet, hung on the story. His gaze switched to Florence, the woman held a hand to her neck awkwardly.

He didn't really know anything about her, or Kakashi.

"But she failed" the mans expression fell, saddened. Silence fell over the three as the story died, Jiraya didnt need to tell the rest.

How he had to tear her away from the carcass, or how he spent the night listening to the girl cry and babble on how she'd killed another soul.

"Anyways" the sage coughed, clearing his throat. "Now she's the best medic I know" his hand rose to rest on the top of her head affectionately, like a parent comforting their child.

Naruto looked to his hands, unaware of the heavy atmosphere. "Medics are cool" he spoke innocently with kinder energy. "I mean ninja are cool, but medics are awesome, they're the ones saving lives".

Although he didn't say it, it was obvious being kage was the absolute coolest and more awesome then everything else, but still.

Florence shook her head, the strands of pastel hair swaying as she moved. Medics really weren't that cool, she couldn't count how many had died by her hands. The kunoichi had just as much blood on her hands as any other ninja.

And she was the one ment to save people.

"Let's go, we're here" Jiraya snapped her from her thoughts, drawing attention to the hot spring hotel in the disdance.

Eagerly Naruto ran forward, hoping to find a food place nearby.

A short disdance behind the bustling genin Florence and Jiraya walked together. The sage tilted his head to peer at her it seems everything had finally tumbled down around her.

"Sometimes to fix things you've gotta break them Florence" his eyes hung heavy, words laced with his rare wisdom.
