Yall wanna take a break for a moment? I looked at Charli for a moment before nodding. Yeah, we can take a break. We both stood and stretched before looking at one another. You want something to drink I am gonna go check on the kids. No, I am good. He nodded before walking out the office. I took in a deep breath before letting it out again. I pulled out my phone to check any messages I may have had because I'd put my phone on silent to show that I was serious about working on my marriage. It was more than just the money tied up in our marriage, we have children, businesses, homes, cars, family. The family that was despite the fact they were staying out of the situation was still rooting for us to stay together.
I scrolled through a few messages from Tammi, Kadence, and Tricia, before landing on one that literally made me sick. Why he was texting me I didn't know but the sheer fact that he'd gotten my new number after I changed it and blocked him from having any access to me, made me want to go postal in this office.
You okay Ms. Anderson the doctor said. I am fine I said looking at the message.
"You and I still have unfinished business!"
Him and I didn't have anything to discuss other than why he felt the need to ruin my life. I deleted the message and blocked the number. Here I got you a tea Charli said coming back in with drinks. Thank you I said looking up at him. No problem he said sitting down next to me. He was still cold and stand offish but at least he agreed to do this for us, for our family. The kids okay? Yeah, they cool my aunt has them. Jay I said? He looked at me before answering naw, Titi Brooke, Gigi isn't...Gigi isn't exactly speaking to me, which means Mimi isn't either. She isn't speaking to you? Nope he said giving a short response. I am so...Don't it wasn't your fault he said looking at the counselor coming back in the room
Shall we begin again? Sure, he said taking my hand back in his. So, what happened next, she said looking up at us.
~Nia~
Your charts look good and it looks like the range of motion inn your leg is coming back just fine. I feel good too probably better than I did before. I chuckled a little, that's what relaxation will do for you. A lot of rest he said rubbing his legs. My visit for you will be next Thursday. Last visit! Yeah after next Thursday you won't need a private nurse anymore, I can release you back to the team trainer. But I though...Um never mind he said seeing his mom come into the house with the little girl I am assuming was his daughter. Daddy! Hey baby girl he said scooping her up. How was your flight? Long she said making a face, mommy was in a bad mood the whole time. OH really he said putting her down. Who is she daddy? Oh this is my nurse Nia. Nia this is my daughter Brielle. It's nice to meet you Ms. Brielle I said giving her a smile. She stared at me for a minute like she was reading my sole, before finally speaking Hi she said curtly. Oop this little girl got balls, I thought to myself. I'd never let my daughter act that way and I know damn sure Charli would get on Desiree as well.
I'll see you next Thursday I said taking that as my queue to get the hell up out of his house. Yeah for sure he said giving a hurt expression. I gathered my things and proceed to the door. Nia! Yes Mrs. Martin I said coming face to face with his mom. I want to talk to you before you left for the day. Sure what's up? As you know Javon is recovering and they expect him to be back on the field soon. Not too soon the trainer still has to work him before he can be fully released. Yes I know and his manager knows as well. Regardless he'll be back to playing in the fall and the team is throwing him a welcome back dinner. A welcome back dinner I nodded listening to her. Yes a dinner and I wanted to invite you to the dinner. Me! Yes you, because of you he still has a career. Mrs. Martin...Call me Catherine... Catherine I didn't do anything but my job and that was to make sure he was healthy. Don't be modest you save my son's life. Multiple times at that.
