Kira and Ryuk enters the portal to the human world. When he entered, he went into a long blue-white tunnel that stretched for miles and miles and miles. It seemed that it would never end. "Maybe I should have thought this through a little bit further. " He started to regret this. After what seemed like forever, he finally saw the human world. Kira and Ryuk passed through the portal and landed face plant onto the cement sidewalk. Ow! "Guess you can still feel pain as a shinigami." He wiped his mouth. "How come you don't feel pain? " curious to why Ryuk didn't react at all. "I don't know what pain feels like. Who knows? Maybe I do feel it but I don't know I'm feeling it. " Ryuk is curious himself.
"Anyways, where are we? It doesn't look like Japan." He takes in his surroundings, noticing it doesn't look familiar. "This is America, Ryuk. This isn't Japan." Astonished by the sight of the large buildings that surround them.
The busy streets of New York engulfed them in the crowd. From a camera's perspective, Kira and Ryuk are invisible in the hustling crowd. The giant-looking skyscrapers added to the aesthetic of business and industry.
Kira and Ryuk started hovering above the ground as if it was natural to them. Kira didn't notice this until he looked at the window of a old run-down antiquity shop. "How do I flap my wings?" He asked blatantly. "I'm not sure how to tell you. It's like moving any other limb on your body." He's unsure of himself on how to answer Kira. Kira tries to pop his wings out but fails to do so. "I'll figure it out later! " He was infuriated.
They continued hovering across the streets until Kira suddenly stops. "What's the matter?" Ryuk asked. "Look at the giant screen. They broadcast the news out here in the public, like what they do in Japan." Kira points at the humongous television screen. Ryuk stares at the screen not understanding what Kira is trying to tell him.
"So?" Ryuk asks. "So; if I wanted to, I can be god on the sidewalk here. I can judge wherever I am. I can even go across the continents and purge this wretched world of evil. Nothing can stop me! "Kira starts laughing.
