"Haworth!" The taxi man points out, grabbing our attention as we come closer to our destination.
"Oh, shit, there's Haworth!" Emma screams with excitement, and that's exactly what means the most to me. Seeing her happy and content in this very moment. As happy as I've seen her in a long time.
"Oh, my God." The sight is just beautiful.
"There they are, the moors!" Emma cannot take her eyes out from the window, she is utterly stunned from her viewings. "There's the sheep!" She grins. "Stop, stop! Here we are!"
Achmed takes a slower path and looks for a suitable place to pull over.
"Achmed, stop. Let us out."
"Let us out." I giggle in return just beyond excited to experience this very moment with a very special woman to me.
"OK." He pulls over and unlocks the doors for us to experience the moors.
Nothing has been so beautiful. The grassy cliffs. The sheep's hurting together and heading down the hills. The sun setting and shining so brightly through the twigs of the tree projecting on the most beautiful woman there is to ever grace this earth. And in this very moment, watching Emma so happy makes me happy and forget about my worries; having to tell her about my baby, having a fight with Robin.
I wonder closer to my bestfriend and wrap my arms so tight around her dainty little waist. I'm certain since cancer attacked her body she's been losing all her perfect weight. We become so close that every inch from toes to cheeks are touching as we sway from left to right admiring the view and moment whilst our favourite song plays.
"Oh, God, it is unutterable."
"I cannot live without my life.
I cannot live without my soul."
"I can't believe we're here. I can't believe we're here!" She screams from the top of lungs in joy, pulling out her phone to take a photo to capture this magical moment.
"Wait, I need one, too." I take my phone snapping some more photos of her and I.
"That was just a dream
That's me in the corner
That's me in the spotlight
Losing my religion
Trying to keep up with you
And I don't know if I can do it
Oh no, I've said too much
I haven't said enough
I thought that I heard you laughing.."
"Achmed! Come and dance. Come on." We both persuade him, but he's already abruptly shaking his head in disapproval.
"No, no, no. I don't dance." But obviously we don't take that as an answer. We head to the car and drag him out ready for the beat.
"I think I thought I saw you try
But that was just a dream..." we all jump up and down and dance.
"Thank you, Achmed, you're a saint." I thank because truthfully it is very rare we get a taxi driver like achmed who is willing to drive us this far.
"Achmed! You are one sexy dancer!" Emma whistles.
"Take care, huh." He hugs the two of us whilst dropping us off at our hotel for the weekend.
"Drive safely!" We cheer and wave him off. We enter the hotel but it's very late so it's quiet. Far too quiet. We ring the bell and an old woman comes down in a dressing gown to check us in, and let's just say, she was not happy.
"You've got the Emily suite. Top floor, view of the moors, four-poster and gas effect fire." She hands over the key to Emma.
"Ooh!" We both cheer.
"And you've got the Branwell room. Ground floor, shared toilet." The woman says handing over the keys to myself
"Ooh." I flatly reply with a dull manner sounding less appealing than Emma's suit.
"Can I go back to bed now?" She asks, trying to rush us.
"Yes. Let's all go to bed." I nod earning a frown from the desk woman but a smirk from my best friend. Maybe I need to make myself clear. "I mean, not together." I scoff.
"Clearly." She sarcastically quips and leaves Emma and I to find our rooms.
"Thank you." We grin and wheel our luggage to the rooms.
Emma and I both decide to leave our own luggage in our separate rooms and get into our fancy new pjs that she had brought and head back to Emma's room to watch a movie.
"You just scored the best pyjamas I've ever worn in my life"
I cosy up next to my best friend and shimmy under the duvet while we munch away at the popcorn watching whatever chick flick that appears on the Tv.
Now that we're here, in her dream place, snuggled up and comfy, I think to myself... is there any better time to tell her than now?
"Emma... there's something I need to tell you..." I stutter nervously because I'm freaked out that she will hate me or run away from me or never want to see me again.
"Okay... but first I would like to tell you something..." Emma slides up, resting on her elbows and looking down into my big brown orbs. "Regina... I erm... I think..."
Whatever she is trying to say... it looks as though she's struggling.
"What is it emma?"
"I think that I'm... I'm falling for you" she squeezes her eyes so painfully tight together scared for what I'm going to say. But I say nothing.
Something within me is pulling me closer to her, pulling her down on top of me as I connect my lips with hers. She seats her leg over my frame and straddles me tight, cupping my cheeks and deepening the kiss. She slowly starts unbuttoning my fancy fluffy onesie and that's when I panicked.
I have a baby, and she is bound to notice very soon if we continue. So I push her off me and stand away from the bed.
"What? Regina! You kissed me and now pushing me away?" She stutters utterly confused. "I know this is sudden but I've loved you my entire life, this ... me and you... it's how i want to spend my last years. With the woman I love."
"Emma... I'm with Robin. Sure we're going through a rough patch at the moment and I love you too. I can't deny theirs feelings there because there is. I fucking love you Emma. More than anybody."
"More than Robin?" She questions.
"Absolutely!" I return without a single heartbeat. "It's just complicated at the moment and I cannot cheat on him"
"I think it's something more than that Regina. It's always been me and you. What's the sudden change? It's not because I have cancer right?" She scoffs as her eyes water and it breaks my heart.
"No! Not at all..." I abruptly shake my head. "It's something... I don't know if now is the time to tell you"
"You erm... you should go to your room. I'll see you tomorrow" she pulls the duvet over her and turns off the tv and bedside lamp, shutting all light away, and basically shutting me away.
