~Regina PoV~
Okay so I know I was supposed to avoid Emma. Avoid drama. Avoid anything that can harm my last few weeks of pregnancy.
However, that plan didn't go according to schedule. Emma needs me now more than ever, and now that Robin is out at work, I need her more than ever.
Talking of Robin...
*ring ring ring*
"Hey, baby. How you doing?" He questions, my mouth parts to respond but instantly he is butting in and asking more questions. "How was the scan today?"
"Guess what? Emmy showed up." I inform, already wincing from the thought of his response to the woman he hates most. But despite everything she is and always will be my best friend, and I need her, he should be happy someone is by my side while he isn't.
"What, on the scan?" He jokes to hide his initial response.
"It's spread" I sadly state hoping this will allow him to forgive me. Not that I should need forgiving. She's my bestfriend and if I want her in my life, I will have her in my life.
"So What Regina? Let's face it, she's sick, she won't let much longer..."
"ROBIN! STOP" I shout down the phone hating for his attitude and his words against my bestfriend since day one.
"What? I'm sick of her putting everyone down and craving attention. She's sick... so what? What does she expect us to do?" He sasses in resentment.
I cannot believe the words I'm hearing right now, is he serious? I hate the fact that he hates her. She is my everything, since we were little girls she is all I've ever had. Friendships are forever, relationships are also forever if the person is right? But why am I always in the middle? Why does everything have to be so confusing.
"Robin. Do not ever speak of Emma like that again. She's been here for me much longer than you ever have." I snap back.
"Then choose"
"What?"
"Me or Emma." He sharply commands but how does he expect me to choose. Between the father of my child and my lifelong dying bestfriend.
"Don't make me do that Robin" I snap; at this point my eyes are streaming. My heart it racing and my mind is crashing. How am I ever going to do that.
"It shouldn't be hard Regina. Emma is bad for you, I love you, I'm your boyfriend, you have feelings for me ... not her so why are you always defending that scumbag"
"ROBIN!"
"Oh my god..." he slowly lets out. "I didn't see it before, but now I do..." he chuckles to himself. "I can't believe it. You have feelings for her." I can practically hear him rolling his eyes and shaking his head through the phone.
"What? Robin... no"
"How long? How long has it been going on for?" He harshly screams down the phone so loudly i have to hold the phone back even further away from my ear.
"It hasn't... nothing's happened Robin, listen to me" I try to compromise, but he isn't taking this well at all.
"No regina. Tell me now! I know Emma has feelings for you it's obvious. She's all over you. But do you have feelings for her" he asks, my throat cracks and I find it impossible to respond. The truth may put my relationship on the line and I'm not sure if I want my child to live without a happy family married and in love. If I tell him I love Emma then marriage definitely won't happen. "Regina! You do!"
"I've never acted on them. We've kissed once or twice but it was nothing sexual, nothing more happened" I compromise hoping it will somewhat reassure him.
"But you would have" he bluntly responds, and he's not lying. I would have yes.
"Yes" I mutter slowly and shaming-fully. "I never meant to hurt you robin, I done everything you wanted. I stayed away from the drama, but I can't stay away. She's my bestfriend and if you love me then you will learn to accept her as my friend"
"No regina. Final choice. Me or Emma."
"You know what. You should never put me in this position. I choose Emma. Emma today, Emma tomorrow, Emma everyday. You are the father of my baby. Nothing more. We will arrange custody after the child is here" I snap, and finally hang up.
I break down in tears. Crumbling to the floor, crying my eyes out wishing there was a better way to handle that situation. But he hates her, he disapproves of our friendship and right now emma needs me, as I do her.
It'll always be Emma and I, and whoever tries to get between us, isn't worth being apart of our lives. I'm sick of being told what to do and who to be around but that doesn't happen anymore. I won't let it. Not again. Emma is mine and she needs to know it.
