Chapter 7~ Crying and Crying
Once I started the car up, I drove it out of the driveway and towards Staci's house. I already knew how to get to her house from my new one. It was quite a drive, though.
"Where are we going?" Sissy questioned, adjusting the volume of the car radio, stretching the seatbelt out, considering the fact that she couldn't even touch her feet to the floor while in the passenger seat.
"Staci's. You can just play video games with Zeke or something."
"But, why can't I hang out with you guys?" She asked, giving me one of her famous pouting faces.
"Because, we're going to be talking about... Girl stuff... Stuff you wouldn't be interested in?" I told her, having it come out as more of a question than a statement.
"Oh, okay," She responded. Sissy loved Zeke, he was basically the big brother we never had.
While we listened to the sounds of Fall Out Boy with "Centuries," I finally pulled into Staci's driveway after the 20 minute drive. When we got out of the car and walked to the door, I spotted Lyra already looking at us through Staci's bedroom window.
I rang the doorbell just as Zeke pulled the door open, gladly letting us come inside.
"Hey Sissy." He said, picking her up, giving her a tight hug. See, they are just like brother and sister.
"Hi Zeke," she said, obvious happy to see him again.
"I'm just going to go upstairs" I told them, walking up the steps, opening Staci's bedroom door wide. Just as I entered her room, I saw a whole pile of crumpled up tissues on the carpeted floor, and sappy romance movies scattered over the ground.
As I walked in further, I heard the soft sounds of Allie and Noah speaking to each other while the rain poured down hard. But I could barely here the touching moment of the movie over Staci's crying and sobbing. I instantly came up to her, hugging her.
"Staci, to be blunt, you look like shit." I told her.
"Wow, thanks." She said sarcastically, even though she still gave a small chuckle afterwards, but continued to cry more.
Lyra and I say on her queen sized bed with her, while Lyra whispered a quiet "thanks for coming" to me. I nodded my head, telling her "no problem," when we started talking to Staci again.
"So, tell me what happened." I said to Staci. I'm sure Lyra has already heard it."
"Yes, several times" Lyra replied, getting a glare from Staci.
Staci turned back to me, beginning to explain. "Well, this morning, when I was in Reading and Coby was in Trig, I heard people talking about Coby and how he was apparently going to be going with Chelsea to Tanner's party. I thought it was just some silly rumor, because Coby and I already agreed we were both going together. So, when class ended, I went up to his locker to confront him about the situation and ask him if it was the truth. But, I stopped dead in my tracks once I saw that it wasn't just Coby at his locker, but it was also Chelsea, pressed up against it might I add. They were making out, full on making out, right in front of my face." She stopped to grab another tissue from the second box I've seen her empty since I got here, blowing into it hard, throwing it somewhere on her floor with the rest.
"So, I went up to both of them, tapping Coby on his shoulder, making him turn around to face me. But the worst part, is what he said to me after that. He said, 'Didn't you get the note that I wrote for you in your locker? We're done, sweetheart.' I was so furious that I slapped his face, twice, then shoving him into his locker, walking away to the girl's bathroom. I left school early, and this is where I've been since." Staci stated, finishing her story.
