Chapter 14~ The Real Hunter
I turned my head so I was looking straight into Hunter's view. "What are we doing here?"
"Showing you a place that all of us hang out at?" He said, having it come out more like a question.
"We're technically trespassing at the moment" I said, trying to take cautions.
"Reese, just live a little."
Why does everybody keep saying that to me? I do have a life, you know.
Hunter took his arms off of my shoulders, starting to walk over to the swings.
I started to follow him, mimicking his footsteps as he tried to move silently, since it was still possible for us to get caught.
As Hunter quietly positioned himself to sit into the swing, the rustiness turned into a disadvantage as the swing and supports began making a screeching sound from it's old age.
I made sure to be quiet as well as I also took a seat in the swing next to him, not moving after that. With the wind blowing through my hair and body, I started feeling a slight chill, even though it wasn't very affective.
Once I began kicking my feet back and forth, they hit against the ground and made the leaves crunch from underneath my boots. I shook the thought aside as I continue swaying slowly on the swing.
"So..." I trailed off, not really knowing what to say at a moment and place like this.
"So..." Hunter dragged out, "What do you wanna talk about?"
"I don't know" I said, my voice softening when I felt all of the street lights turn off, signaling the fact that it must've already been midnight.
"I can't believe I'm actually somewhere other than my house after midnight" I said, positively stating the truth.
Hunter laughed, and then I just scowled at him.
"I wasn't joking."
He quickly shut his mouth, as he started to move back and forth in the swing, causing the supports to start making old, screechy noises.
"Do you think we're going to get caught?" I asked him, starting to get partially worried.
"Trust me, we won't. I've been here with friends during this time of day, and I've never been caught."
I sighed in relief, feeling as if I could trust Hunter and make sure that I know we wouldn't get seen out here.
I could trust him, right? Cause if we did end up getting caught, we could actually go to prison for being on the park's property.
"So, tell me about yourself" Hunter states, breaking the little moment of silence.
"Well, what do you wanna know?"
"When's your birthday?" He asked me.
"February 19th," I replied smoothly, "and I'm pretty sure we are both 16?"
"Nope, I'm 17, and my birthday is September 18th, in case you were wondering."
"Oh, cool. And I wasn't won-"
But I was cut off by Hunter saying "You probably wanna know everything about me."
"Sure" I said, trying to show a hint of sarcasm.
