Chapter 17~ Didn't Expect This

"What the hell was that Reese?" Lyra basically shouted once we began driving to her aunt's house to get Scamp.

"What?" I stupidly asked.

"What happened between you and Hunter this weekend?" Lyra questioned.

"Wait, what?" Staci chimed in, oblivious to what we were even talking about.

"Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you" Lyra paused, taking a deep breath as if she was going to say something either loudly or slowly. "That dipshit in the backseat here hung out with Hunter the whole weekend. But she's yet to tell me what the fuck they ended up doing."

"Stop exaggerating" I muttered.

"Oh my god, not uh" Staci stated, waiting for my response. "What did you guys do?" She asked, wiggling her eyebrows while she was turned around facing me.

"He just showed me around the neighborhood and town on Saturday, and-"

"Oh yeah, did you hear?" Lyra asked us, cutting me off. "Apparently a sheriff found two teenagers at the abandoned park, but they got away."

I instantly froze, and Staci gave me a questioning look. "Reese..."

"Those two teenagers wouldn't happen to be you and Hunter, would it?" Lyra questioned.

"Umm" I blankly replied, not saying anything else.

"Aw, you little rebel, you" Staci cooed, as she reached her arms out and pinched my cheeks.

"What the fuck Staci" I exclaimed, swatting her hands away from my face. "Are you on something at the moment?"

She ignored my comment as she continued talking. "Anyways, you don't have to get scared by it. Even if people know, I highly doubt the cops are going to catch you."

I took in her words. I guess that was true. After 5 minutes of driving, we finally parked in the driveway of Lyra's aunt's house. Once Lyra said she'll be back out, she shut the door, while Staci immediately brought the two of us back into conversation mode.

"Okay, so I am obviously going to do your makeup, and-"

"Whoa, calm yourself" I told her, as I knew that she was about to start rambling. "It's just a date. It's not like we're going to a fancy dinner or anything. We're just rollerblading."

"Do you think Hunter's going to be there?"

Why would that even matter? "Probably not" I spoke, "But if he is, I bet he'd end up being there with the jocks and cheerleaders."

Staci nodded her head in agreeance.

"And could Lyra maybe do my makeup tonight?" Staci immediately frowned. "She told me she really wanted to do it sometime, so I was going to let her do my makeup tonight. Please?"

"Fine" she huffed, "But I'm picking out your outfit."

"Just don't make me look like a tater-thot" I replied, "We're just rollerblading."

We both started to laugh after my statement, when we were interrupted by a car door opening, and an adorable Jack Russell Terrier hopping into the back seat with me.

"Hi Scamp" I cooed, instantly picking up the weightless puppy, cradling it in my arms as if he were a baby. Call me weird, but I really don't care. I've never had a dog, so Scamp is literally my baby whenever I see him.
