In his original story of the Little Mermaid after when it was announced that the prince will married the slave singer, the Little Mermaid was suppose to jump back into the ocean and become sea form but her sisters heard about this and gave her a knife to kill the prince and let the blood drop onto her feet. If she does that then she can be a mermaid again and come back home. The Little Mermaid couldn't do it. Instead she did jump back into the ocean but because of her good deed instead of becoming sea form she became one of the daughters of the air and if she do good deeds for 300 years then she can go to the after life. I didn't exactly like that ending and that's why I stick with the Disney's version.
