After dinner, Clay went back to his room to watch more NASCAR on his TV watch. But not after wiping his face from eating. (Life lesson from racers #1: Always wipe your face after you eat.) Suddenly, Victor came into the room, just as he was watching.
"Hey there, son," Victor said. "Oh, hello, Victor," Clay said. "What brings you by?" "Well, your mother, and grandfather told me about the stuff you've been having trouble with, and have also told me that you need a little more excitement in your activity," Victor explained. "So I was thinking I might create you something for your birthday this Saturday. I'm sure you'll be excited on what it will be."
"Great, just another one of those inventions that you might make billions of dollars in," Clay said. "I can only imagine what it's going to be." "Now look, I know you weren't impressed with all the inventions I brought to the house, and made copies of to get quick money, but this one will actually be something you might like," Victor said.
"Let's just hope, I already have too much on my mind right now," Clay said. "My friend Ricky told me about this festival before dinner, and I just met this girl who wrote me on her blog." "Penny Walker?" Victor asked. "I didn't even know that was her last name," Clay answered. "I invited her to eat lunch with me tomorrow, this afternoon." "Well she talks a lot about car racing on her blog, and you are the most talented racer at your school, so I guess you two would make a perfect match," Victor agreed.
"Ricky doesn't seem to think so," Clay explained. "He said that I don't know anything about her." "Well maybe ask her to go somewhere with you, and maybe you might find out more about her, or ask her about stuff tomorrow at lunch," Victor suggested. "That's what I did when I met your mother, you know before she became an android." "I get it, not everyone can survive without their organs or body parts removed," Clay said. "That's why you built a fancy little hospital to turn regular people in Vegas into cyborgs, or androids." "Well that might happen to you if you get injured, or killed in a car accident if you're not careful," Victor explained. "The road can be a very dangerous place for kids, especially teenagers like you."
"I haven't even played in the streets when I was a kid," Clay said. "I can handle myself pretty well, even off the track." "Oh yeah, you saw that NASCAR battle tournament commercial that came on?" Victor asked. "That's different," Clay answered. "Ricky said that he's modify my car with weapons in order to help me survive. I just need a lot of training, and I'll be able to succeed." "Well let's hope so," Victor said. "Anyway, you should probably get yourself a shower, because tomorrow is the last day of school for this week. I'll see you this weekend." Victor closed the door behind him after leaving.
