The next day at school, Clay was having lunch with Ricky at the cafeteria. Clay then explained to Ricky about what Victor told him last night. "He didn't even tell me what the surprise was, but he's showing me this weekend," Clay said.

"Damn," Ricky commented. "For all I know it's probably going to be something stupid like the last couple of inventions," Clay said. "Not exactly, Clay," Ricky explained. "You might have lucked out this time." "Lucked out, how?" Clay asked. "Well maybe the surprise is a spy car with hidden weapons, like in those James Bond movies," Ricky answered. "Guess I'll have to wait for the disappointment to show tomorrow," Clay said. "I'll bring a hoodie for my shame."

Penny came over to the table, and sat next to Clay. "Hi Clay," Penny said. "Thanks for inviting me to eat lunch with you, yesterday." "Well, I couldn't let someone eat by themselves," Clay explained. "That's not the kind of person I would be. This is my best friend, and mechanic Ricky." "What's up," Ricky said.

"Nice to meet you," Penny said. "So, did you see what I wrote about you on my blog?" "Actually I was too distracted by homework to do that," Clay explained. "I will when we get home, though." "So, what else do you write about on your blog?" Ricky asked. "Well I'll be doing stuff for the NASCAR battle tournament coming up," Penny answered. "The people in charge of it want me to be their announcer." "Well at least you'll get to see the action, without people in your way," Clay said. "Ricky is signing me up for the tournament."

"I'll do it after school," Ricky explained. "But first I need to modify the car with weapons in order to help you fight against other racers." "Let's hope who ever wins the tournament gets to be put in a NASCAR race," Clay said. "Either that or a hundred thousand dollars." "You're already rich thanks to your Dad," Ricky reminded. "He's the head of Cyber Tech." "You mean that invention, and robot building company?" Penny asked. "Pretty much," Clay answered. "Well, I'm finished with my food," Ricky said. "I'll meet you at the track at 1:00 P.M., Clay." As Ricky went to go put up his tray, Clay then decided to make the move as Victor told him. "So, Penny," Clay said. "When you're done with your blog tonight, perhaps we can both do something later tonight?"

"Sure, where do you think is the best place to go?" Penny asked. "Well the Roadrunner Saloon is open tonight," Clay answered. "I was thinking that would be a good place to spend time with each other." Penny smiled, and then leaned closer to Clay. "Sure, it's a date," Penny said, and kissed Clay on the cheek. "Be sure to pick me up at 7:00 P.M. tonight." Finally Penny took her food tray, and then went to go put up her food. Clay then smiled knowing that he made the right choice. "Okay Clay, you can do this," Clay said to himself. "Just take her out to dinner at the Roadrunner Saloon, and it'll all be fine."
