After taking out the purple key from his pager, Clay got out of the training room, while taking the other keys with him. Once Clay was out of the training room, he took off his racing helmet, and wiped the sweat from his forehead.
"That was almost too much training," Clay said. "But I'm glad it's over. Now where am I going to put all these keys?" "I installed a weapon key storage in your Battle Car," Victor explained. "It's just on top of where your radio is." "Oh well, I'll put them up later," Clay said. "Right now, I need to get out of this suit. I'm starting to sweat on the inside of this thing." "Alright then, but if you want to put it back on, just use the red weapon key which recorded the outfit," Victor explained.
"What does that even mean?" Clay asked. "Recorded the outfit. I didn't even know pagers were made to record." "It means that the suit can genetically put itself back on you, once you insert the key inside," Victor answered. "Makes sense," Clay said. "Well, I better get ready for my date with Penny. Do you know where there's an eye patch?"
"There's one in my room," Victor explained. "It's at the bottom of the closet, where you'll find my Halloween costume from when I was 27. I used that costume with one of my dates with your mother." "Well at least you didn't have to keep one of your eyes hidden due to an injury," Clay said. "I just lost an eye, due to a robot kicking my ass." "Well technically you lost more than one eye," Victor mentioned. "The robot broke your arm bones, but luckily I came through in replacing those, and your eye."
"Luckily my ass," Clay said. "Sometimes luck is something bad for me, that doesn't involve racing. I'm gonna go get ready now." After Clay got his outfit off, he went upstairs back into his room, where his capsule was moved to, and found a note on the dresser from his best friend, and mechanic Ricky. "Dear, Clay," the note said. "I took the liberty of moving your capsule to your bedroom while you're training in the lab. Anyway, if you're wondering where I am now, I went home because I spent too much time with you today, and yesterday, but I'll see you in school tomorrow. It is our last week, then we'll be Juniors after summer. Sincerely Ricky Cunningham." "Well I bored my mechanic enough today," Clay said. "Better get ready then."
Suddenly Clay's phone started buzzing causing him to answer it. "Hello," Clay said. "Hi Clay," Penny answered. "I just decided that we would go somewhere else tonight for our date." "Okay, but what place did you have in mind?" Clay asked. "Well the town pier just rolled into town, and I was hoping we would go there," Penny answered. "Sure, I'll pick you up at 6:00 P.M.," Clay explained. "See you there," Penny said, and hung up. "Now if I can just get my clothing on first, then I might be able to cover my eye," Clay said to himself. "Guess I'll just wear what I usually where, and then get Vic's eye patch from his Halloween costume."
