"Y/N," he whispered.

"I think that's your cue," Futaba said.

I jumped down from where I was and Akechi looked up. He gasped and tried to get up. But he was too weak to stand up. He fell back down and I looked down at him.

"Tell me the truth. Did you kill my father?"

Akechi avoided my gaze, but nodded, "Yes."

I pointed my rifle at him, tears threatening to slip down my face. "You monster! So you did kill my father! You'll pay for this!"

"Y/N, please, I had my reasons."

"You can explain everything once we take you in," I said.

"Y/N, please," his voice was breaking. "I only did this to be accepted. To feel wanted and to feel loved. You're the only person who ever loved me."

My heart was breaking. I did love Akechi, but he had killed my father. Even if he did have another family, he was still my father. My hands were shaking as I held the rifle.

"This isn't you, Akechi, but I can't forgive you for what you did to my father. However, I can feel your pain."

He looked up at me, a glint of hope in his eyes, "Please."

There was another person coming. It was Akechi?

"Ah, there you are."

"Akechi?" Ann asked.

"That's the cognitive version of Akechi," Morgana said.

"It's about time I finish you off."

Akechi looked at his cognitive self, "So this is how Shido sees me? Nothing but a puppet."

"I have my orders from Shido," he said and pulled out a gun.

I moved my rifle from Akechi to his cognitive self. His cognition looked over at me and smirked, "Go ahead. Pull the trigger. If you do, he dies."

"Y/N, get out of here. Get out of here and send the calling card. Take down Shido for me," Akechi said.

"Not without you," I said.

"I will give you one chance. Kill the Phantom Thieves and I will let you live."

Akechi gritted his teeth as he stood up. He pulled out a gun and pointed it at Joker.

"I'm sorry," he said. He turned around and shot his cognitive self. He turned back around and shot a panel that was on the wall. A wall had sprung up and blocked Akechi and his cognitive self.

"Go! Get out of here! Lead them to victory, Joker!" Akechi yelled.

"We're not leaving without you!" Joker said.

"You have to. There's no other way."

I frantically looked around. There was nothing to reverse what has been done.

"Akechi!" I banged on the wall. "We're going to get you out of here!"

"It's too late, Y/N. Leave while you still can."

"We're not leaving without you!" I yelled.

"Get the hell out of here! Save yourself, Y/N. Besides, you deserve someone better than me," Akechi said, his voice breaking.

I grew angry and pounded the wall, "If you make it out alive, I'm kicking your ass!"

He chuckled, "I wouldn't put it past you to do such a thing."

"Let's get out of here," I said and ran the other way. The others ran with me.

"Joker," Akechi called out.

Joker stopped and walked back towards the wall.

"Tell Y/N I love her."

"You have to tell her that yourself. Make it out of here for her sake," Joker said and ran back.

Akechi smirked and brought his gun up, "Give me your worst."

From the hall we could hear gun shots firing. I turned and looked back.

"His signal is gone," Futaba said.

I took in a hard breath. Tears slipped down my face, but I wiped them away. I kept on going with the others. We returned to the real world and we headed back to Leblanc. Everyone headed home and I headed to the train station. I walked into my house and laid on my bed. I didn't want to believe that Akechi had killed my father. Mental shutdown or not, he still killed my father. I sighed and thought nothing of it.

In the morning I walked to the train station. I was very tired and didn't want to do anything. I walked to the station and sat by the pillar. I sat there until the train came. I got up and walked into the car. Upon arriving, Akira was standing by the gates.

"Is something up, Akira?" I asked.

"We're going to send the calling card today."

"Do you need me?"

"I think we should be good. Just rest for today."

"Did you hear anything from Akechi?"

"I did not."

I nodded and we headed into the building. Once school was over, I wished the Phantom Thieves good luck and headed home. I got home, did my homework, and watched some TV. I didn't feel like doing anything until my mom got home.

"Hi, Y/N," my mother said.

"Hi, mom," I said.

"Did you hear anything on Akechi?"

"He's still missing," I said, trying not to let my voice break.

"I'm sorry, sweetie. But maybe he left for a good reason."

"Yeah. Maybe."

My mother made dinner and I ate in silence. She cleaned up everything and I walked into my room. I laid down on my bed and went on my computer. I had searched the news for anything that had to do with Akechi. So far, there was nothing. I sighed and put my computer away.

Around the evening time, Akira had texted me to come to Leblanc. I got up and left the house. I arrived at Leblanc and headed inside. Sojiro was surprised to see me so late.

"Y/N, why are you here?" he asked.

"Akira texted me to come here."

"I see. He's upstairs."

I walked up the stairs and saw Akira and Morgana sitting on the bed.

"How did it go?"

"We're just waiting for his change of heart."

"I guess it went well since Akechi wasn't there to stop it."

"Um, about him."

"What?"

"The thing is about him, he's not really gone."

"He's not? But Futaba said his signal was gone."

"It did leave, but when we were leaving the palace, Futaba saw it came back."

"Where is he?"
