~1 year~
"We're moving back?" I asked.
"Yeah. I forgot to tell you we would be moving back in a year."
"What about the old house?"
"No one bought it so we're moving back to that house."
I sighed, "I could of stayed there."
"I wanted you to come with me."
"Alright."
Everything was going back and I said goodbye to the friends I had made in Texas. They were very helpful and patient while I was learning English. They didn't really treat me the way the others did. They were sad to see me go, yes, but they didn't plan an elaborate sending off party. I wasn't expecting that from them either because it was different. They were different and they weren't my friends. A few of them even asked me about the necklace Akechi had given me. I had told them my boyfriend had given it to me. It was a weird conversation because they asked me a lot of questions about him and why we were still together. It irked me, but I brushed it off. I packed my last bag and my mother and I were heading back to the airport.
11 or so hours later I was back in Japan. There was someone there waiting for us to drive us back to the house. When we got there, everything was already delivered and put in its place.
"Did someone come in and unpack for us?" I asked.
"I guess, but it saves us from unpacking it all."
I unpacked my suitcase and helped my mother get ready for dinner. There was a knock on the door. I walked over and opened it up to see Akira was standing there.
"Akira?"
"Y/N, you're back?"
"H-how did you know I would be back?"
"That's not the important thing right now."
"What's going on?"
"It's Akechi."
"Mom," I looked into the kitchen.
"Don't worry about me, dear. Go to him!"
I nodded and grabbed my shoes. I closed the door and we headed off.
"Fill me in."
"Ever since you left, he kind of slipped into a depression. It wasn't in an instant. It was gradual. First he didn't come to Leblanc as often as he did. Next, we tried going to his apartment and he wouldn't answer. We tried to call and text him. He answered for a little bit, but then he stopped. I recently had gotten a text from him saying 'All my fault.'"
"Where is he now?"
"He's on the roof of his apartment. Yusuke and Futaba are with him as we speak."
"Where are the others?"
"They're trying to get the police to come, but they're refusing right now."
We got to his apartment and ran inside. We ran up the stairs and made it to the roof. Akechi was standing on the edge with a gun pointing at his head. Below him was a few police officers. Akechi didn't look like himself. His hair looked like it hadn't been washed in months. He was wearing a tshirt and sweatpants. His eyes were so bloodshot that I thought blood was going to come out. His hands were shaking as he held the gun up to his head.
"Back away now and I won't shoot," Akechi growled.
His voice was so hoarse. I almost started to cry just staring at him.
"What should we do?" I asked Akira.
"You're the only one who knows him best. You need to talk to him."
I nodded, "What kind of approach?"
"Calm, cool, and soft. Just be you."
I slowly walked towards Akechi.
"Akechi!"
He looked around and our eyes locked. His face softened up and he lowered the gun.
"Y-Y/N?"
"Akechi, I'm not gone anymore. I'm right here."
"Y/N, is that really you?"
"It is, Akechi. I came back to you."
He walked off the edge of the roof and slowly walked towards me. He dropped his gun and fell onto the ground. I ran over to him and helped him up.
"I'm glad you're back," he whispered.
Tears slid down my face, "I'm happy to be back."
"Y/N, there's something I need to tell you."
"What is it?"
"I-" BANG!
I looked around and saw there was a police officer on the roof. He had silently taken out Akira, Yusuke, and Futaba. There was someone that was standing behind him. He walked out and smirked.
"Hello, Y/N."
"Who the hell are you?"
"We'll get acquainted soon."
"What did you do to him?!"
"Nothing that will do long term damage."
"What did you do?!"
"We just shot him."
I cried harder, "You bastard! He was already in a tough state and you decided to shoot him?!" I grabbed his gun and shot the police in the leg. He yelled and fell onto the ground. He pulled out his gun and was about to shoot me.
"Hold your fire, sir!" the man yelled. "We need her."
"Listen, we're not going to hurt you or Akechi. We just need to talk."
"As long as you don't hurt the others."
The man looked at the others and nodded his head, "Very well. I can agree to that."
I dropped the gun and helped Akechi up. Akechi was taken to the hospital and I was taken elsewhere.
"Akechi was informed of some very important information. Some information I wish not to dispose of as of this moment. But his boss had told him something he shouldn't have."
"Where is his boss?" I asked.
"Dead."
"Dead?"
"Yes. I will get to that later. Now, did you leave Japan?"
"Only for a year."
"I see. And this was a year from when you left?"
"Yes. I already said it was a year."
"Just checking. And everything was filed out?"
"Yes."
"Don't you think it was suspicious that everything was filed before you left?"
"I did, but I didn't want to say anything."
"Well you should of."
"Why?"
"I am one of Akechi's friends. Well, we're not really friends. We used to work together on cases, but when he forced mental shutdowns and psychotic breakdowns, I stopped being his partner. When I heard about our boss dying, I knew it had to do something with him."
"What did he do?"
