We came back from Miami a few days after that night. We got back to the apartment and that was when I was starting to feel a bit sick.
"It might of been something you ate," he said.
"Yeah. American food is different from food here," I said.
"Also, you gave me one hell of a back that morning," Akechi smiled.
"Did I hurt you?" I asked.
"No. It was just red."
"Yeah, I remember."
"I'm heading to work. I'll see you later," he said and pecked my cheek.
"See you later."
"I love you," he said.
"I love you too."
Before he walked out of the apartment, I ran up from behind him and wrapped my arms around his waist. He turned around a bit and wrapped his arm around my back.
"I'm going to miss you, too," he said.
I pulled away and he walked out of the apartment. Since I didn't need to head in until later, I decided to go to the store. I walked down the aisle and grabbed a small box. I paid for it and headed back to the apartment.
"Only one way of confirming it."
I took the test and waited thirty minutes. I checked back and saw two lines. Tears slipped from my eyes as I looked at the two lines. I had to tell him when he got back from work. But that was when I was working. I sighed and put the test back in the box. I hid it in the bathroom and decided to make a game for him once he returned from work.
I finished and it was time for me to head over to Leblanc. I grabbed my keys and walked out. I locked the door and headed to the train station. Once there, I waited for the train that headed to Yongen-Jaya. I got on the train and waited for my stop. The doors opened up and I headed down towards Leblanc. I walked inside and saw Sojiro, Akira, and Futaba were there.
"Hi, Y/N," Sojiro said.
"Hi, boss."
"How was your honeymoon?" Akira asked.
"I need to tell you something," I said.
"We can talk upstairs," he said.
We walked upstairs and I sat down on the couch he had there.
"What's up?" Akira asked.
"I'm pregnant."
He smiled and hugged me, "Congrats. I think Akechi will be happy."
"I hope he will be."
We headed downstairs and got to work.
"So, tell me how you plan on telling Akechi," Akira said.
"He's a detective. I made him a fake case file and there are riddles that he will have to figure out," I said.
"You are pretty clever," Futaba said. "What are you telling him?"
"I'm going to be having a child," I said.
"Really?!" Futaba smiled.
"Congrats," Sojiro said.
I smiled, "Thanks."
I walked into the apartment to find Y/N wasn't there. I guess she still had to go to work for Sojiro. I set my briefcase down and saw there was a file folder on the counter. In big black letters was the word: CONFIDENTIAL. I opened it up a bit and there was a list of things. I opened it completely and looked through the list. I put it down and saw there was a picture of Y/N and there was information about her. I was a bit confused. Why would there be a case on Y/N? I looked at the list and now realized they were riddles. I grabbed a pen and looked at the first one.
"This is where we had fun the other night."
I wrote down the hotel and then I wrote down the bed. I looked at the second one.
"I am a place where people go where they are sick at home."
I thought about this one, but I could think the bathroom. So I wrote it down and looked at the third one.
"What is another name for exam?"
I wrote down test.
"I only come about when I am craved for."
This was a hard one. I thought about it for a minute and then I moved to the next one.
"Pink and Blue."
This was very vague. I put down colors and moved on.
"40 weeks."
40 weeks? Let's see, 40 weeks is roughly 9 months. Wait. I looked back at the colors and then looked down at the last one. There were two images. There was an image of a bun in an oven and then a stork. I dropped my pen and the paper. I looked at the other piece of paper and saw at the corner there was something.
"Flip over when finished with riddles."
I flipped it over and there was writing telling me to go into the bathroom and check under the sink. I ran into the bedroom and almost fell going in to the bathroom. I opened up the cabinet under the sink and there it was. That box that anyone could tell what it was. I pulled it out of the cabinet and held it. There was something written on it as well.
"Go and see if you're correct."
With a shaky hand, I opened up the box and pulled out the small test. I closed my eyes for a brief moment. I opened them and saw two lines. I couldn't contain my excitement. I smiled and tears fell from my eyes. Soon, that smile turned into laughter. I couldn't believe it.
"Yes!" I yelled throughout the apartment. I ran back to the counter with the box in hand. I set it down and put everything in the folder. I closed it up and wrote down: Case Closed.
"You're pretty smart there, Y/N. I love the little game you set up," I smiled and looked at the test once more.
I walked down towards the apartment and got out my keys. I unlocked the door and walked inside. I set my keys down and closed the door.
"I'm home, Akechi," I said.
I looked around and all the lights were turned off except for the counter lights. I walked over and saw the words 'Case Closed' on the folder. I smiled and Akechi came out from nowhere. He wrapped his arms around my waist and put his head on his shoulder. I almost smacked him in the face.
"I can't believe it!" he smiled. "We're going to have a family!"
I smiled and turned towards him. I put my hand on his cheek and pressed my lips against his. He kissed back and pulled away. He faced me and put his forehead against mine.
"Thank you, for giving me everything and more."
I smiled and wrapped my arms around his neck, "You're welcome. Thank you for letting me love you."
