"What did he do?" I asked.

"He killed his own boss."

I looked at the ground and remembered the time we were in Shido's palace. I shook my head and looked at him, "Do you really think Akechi would be to blame? Did you care to look at the footage?"

"No, but that doesn't matter. All we saw was him walking away from the direction of his office. There was no way it wasn't him."

"What else is down that hallway?"

"I can't tell you that. If you want to investigate and prove his innocence, you might as well try."

"What information did he find out?"

"He found out that your mother had found Shido. She had found out that he was behind Wakkaba's death and that he stole her research. She was going to report him, but her boss told her not to do anything since that case had been closed. She wanted to reopen it, but they decided to send her out of the country for a year. And the one who organized it was none other than Akechi's boss."

"How long until I can prove him innocent?"

"I'll give you a month."

"A month?"

"Yes. Anything can be used as evidence."

"Understood."

"That is all. You can go and see Akechi now."

I nodded and left. I headed over to the hospital and found Akechi's room. He was laying on his back. I walked in and sat next to him.

"Y/N," he whispered.

"Shh, don't talk."

"I'm sorry."

"It's alright. I am going to prove you're innocent."

He nodded, "Thank you."

"Can you give me any information?"

"There is a folder in my desk."

I nodded and kissed his forehead, "I'll get you out of this situation."

He smiled and closed his eyes. I walked over to his coat and grabbed his keys. I walked out of the room and headed towards the office. I headed into his room and closed the door. I locked it and put down the blinds. I looked in his desk and found a folder labeled: USE FOR LATER. I grabbed it and opened it up. It was someone who he needed to look into, but never did. I opened up his laptop and found some information he had already been collecting. This person was accused of murder, thievery, robbing, and illegal trafficking. I looked more into this person's criminal record and found they had been to jail for at least three times. But since they knew the police, they left without so much as a slap on the wrist. It disgusted me. I wrote down the places where they were found and headed over into the security area. I sat down in the chair and looked at the hallway where the boss was. I looked through the people that walked through and found someone. I stopped and scanned their face. It came up as Akechi, but I knew it wasn't. I looked around and found something that was attached to their ear. I zoomed in and saw it was an earpiece. It must how they made themselves to look like Akechi. I looked back at the person's file and saw another thing they were charged for: identity imitation. (I don't know if that's a thing but I know imitation is a thing.) I grabbed the file and headed to the police station.

When I got there, I had asked a few police officers who this person was. They said they had no record of this person. I knew they were covering him up. I was about to lose hope, but someone caught my attention. It was Sae Nijima. She pointed her head at a room and I walked in. She looked around and then came in.

"It's been a while since we last saw each other," Sae said.

"Yeah."

"How is he doing?"

"He's in the hospital. They had shot him."

"They're crazy for doing that. I guess you're trying to prove he is innocent."

"Yes."

"Well, I was overheard about the person you're trying to look for. We do have records of them, but the evidence is hidden behind a wall that I can't get past."

I sighed, but I realized, I knew someone.

"I know someone who can though!"

"You do?"

"Yeah."

"Alright. If you need any more help, I'll be more than happy to help."

"Thank you, Nijima-san."

"No need for that. Just call me Sae."

I nodded, "A-alright. Thank you again."

I ran out of the police station and towards the train station. I headed to Yongen-Jaya and to the backstreets. I ran over to Leblanc and walked in. Sojiro and Akira were there.

"How is he doing?" Akira asked.

"He's fine. Where's Futaba?"

"Why do you need to know?" Sojiro asked.

"I need to ask her something."

"Alright. She's back at my house. The door is open."

"Thank you."

I walked out and headed over to Sojiro's house. I opened the door and took my shoes off. I walked up the stairs to see Futaba's door was slightly ajar. I knocked on the door and she almost fell out of her chair.

"Who goes there?"

"It's me, Futaba."

"Ah, Y/N. Come in."

I walked in and sat on her bed.

"What's the matter?"

"I need your help."

"Ooh, I like where this is heading."

"I need you to hack into the police station's archives and find this person who matches the description," I said and handed her the file.

She looked at the file and nodded, "I think I can do that. When do you need it by?"

"As soon as possible. I only have a month until I lose everything."

"I can do that. I'll start working on it tonight."

"Thank you, Futaba."

"You're welcome."

I walked out of the house and back towards the station. Once at Shibuya, I walked back to the office to write down everything I had gathered. I put it in the folder and took everything with me, even his computer. Who knows who might try to sabotage my mission. I locked the door and headed back home.

"There you are. I was wondering what happened to you. How's Akechi?"

"He's in the hospital."

"What happened."

I explained everything that happened that night to my mom. She was willing to help me with proving Akechi innocent.
