The rest of Saturday had been spent with Alex lying against Jack, whose arm barely left the older boy’s hip.

But Alex didn’t mind, for once.

It was comfortable to settle against Jack’s chest, sinking into his t-shirt, his head perfectly slotting into the gap between the boy’s neck and shoulder. Alex seemed to be perfectly designed for Jack, their bodies fit together in every aspect.

Every touch appeared to give Alex shivers, even the gentle brushing of their arms. To feel their flesh and bones make contact, it was electrifying.

Jack knew exactly why.

Alex didn’t.

Sunday had been spent in the same way as Saturday, except without the tears and arguing.

Well, there were a few tears...

Jack, obviously crying because Bambi’s mother died.

For once though, Alex was having fun. He could never ever picture himself with Josh tearing up over a Disney movie, or making popcorn and nearly setting fire to the kitchen, in fact, he couldn’t even picture himself sitting on the same couch as Josh.

Days with his best friend were going out and getting drunk, that was all. Maybe a light of a spliff or two would enhance the “fun” they shared.

They’d never watched a movie together, they’d never eaten together, in fact, they rarely visited each other’s houses.

So, how the fuck were they classed as best friends?

It was merely a label given, it had no true meaning.

Alex had never had a “best friend” before, not a real one.

Today wasn’t Saturday though, nor Sunday.

It was Monday.

Alex always hated Monday’s. They were your reminder to the end of your weekend, and the beginning of school.

Alex didn’t want to go to school. In all honesty, he wanted to spend another day with Jack, but he would never admit that.

For once, the boy was on time to his registration in the morning. He was sat down before Mr. O’Loughlin had even entered the room.

“Alex?” The Irish man was certainly puzzled, “Are you feeling alright?” A little joke to make Alex groan and grit his teeth.

“I’m feeling fine. Perfect. Absolutely positively perfect.” He hissed, his fingers tapping at his desk to prevent himself from strangling the stupid man.

Thankfully, an interruption came in the form of Jack waltzing into the classroom, a large smile plastered across his face.

Taking his seat, one side of Alex, the English boy raised an eyebrow suspiciously, “Why’re you so happy?”

Jack shrugged his shoulders, though his teeth remained on show, “Just a good mood, that’s all.” Half true.

The American couldn’t help but to grin and smirk as the weekend played over his mind. He never imagined he’d have spent it with Alex the way he did. “Anyway, what’s up with you?” Jack noticed how Alex seemed a little tense, the boy just shifted uncomfortably in his seat.

“Why does something have to be “up”? I’m fine.” There he goes again, bitter as he’ll ever be.

Jack frowned, but he couldn’t be bothered to interrogate the boy, he’d wait until he was ready to talk. “Well if you say so.”
