“Mm, what are we doing for New Years, baby?” Alex asked, twisting Jack’s shirt in his fingers as the younger boy sat on his lap.
Tilting his head back, Jack shrugged his shoulders, “Dunno.” He answered plainly, Alex guessing it was because once again he’d been collared into watching the fucking Disney Channel and Jack must be too distracted to offer a proper answer.
“Well, what do you usually do?” The older male attempted once more, but again Jack just replied with, “Dunno.”
Alex huffed, resting his chin onto the other’s shoulder, “Do you love me?” He asked a trick question.
“Dunno.” Was the answer, as Jack’s eyes squinted at the television set.
And with that, Alex thought it perfectly okay to slide his hand up Jack’s tee and slap his naked stomach with a force, the hollow sound making the older boy laugh harder.
“Ow!” Jack squealed, the stinging sensation being the only thing that tore his eyes away from his program. Squirming on Alex’s lap, his boyfriend quickly loosened his grip, Jack tumbling onto the other seat of the couch. A growl left his lips as he glared daggers toward Alex.
“Ugh, that hurt,” Jack complained, rubbing his tummy better. “”What did you do that for?” Obviously oblivious to what he had done wrong.
Alex’s bottom lip jutted outwards as he pretended to look upset, “You said you didn’t know if you loved me...” He whined, his index finger drawing an imaginary line down from his eye to his chin, mimicking a teardrop.
With eyebrows pulled inwards, Jack opened his mouth, baffled, “I never said that!”
“Did so!” Alex argued back almost instantly.
“When did I say that?!” The younger, American boy demanded.
Alex smirked, “About ten seconds ago,” A small exaggeration, “I asked you what you wanted to do for New Years, but apparently you would rather watch Phineas and Ferb than listen to your own darling boyfriend. You just mumbled ‘dunno’ at me, so I asked you again, and I got the same answer. Then I figured you weren’t listening to me and I asked if you loved me, and you said ‘dunno’ again. Now I have proof that you don’t know if you love me and that you prefer cartoons.” The boy caught his breath after such a long-winded speech.
Jack was pouting now, he was just an innocent young boy, it wasn’t fair for Alex to do that to him. “You know what I’m like with the Disney Channel.” He tried to retaliate.
“Yeah, which is so bloody weird!” Alex cried, “You’re almost eighteen, practically an adult, and you watch the Disney Channel more than Toni and she’s only eight years old!” He exclaimed, referring to his second cousin from his father’s side of the family.
“Well fine, you have my attention now...” Jack sighed, giving in, there was no use in arguing back now, “So uh, what did you ask again?”
It was a perfect face palming moment for Alex, “You are unbelievable sometimes.” He groaned, “I said, what do you want to do for New Years Eve?”
“When is it?”
“Today.”
Jack bolted upright in the seat of the sofa, fuck, how could he not have known?
“Today?!”
Alex nodded, “Yeah, well, tonight.”
The younger boy made a noise of disapproval as he crawled across the sofa and collapsed onto Alex, the back of his head resting on the crotch of his boyfriend’s jeans. Looking up, he shrugged his shoulders, “Did you have anything in mind?” He asked, “In America we usually just like drink, I suppose, well, my family does. We have like a family get together.”
