Who would have thought that such different boys would click together so well?
After bumping into one another after Jack’s second therapy session, Oli had just about managed to find the guts to ask Jack for his mobile number. “J-just in case you want to t-talk.” He’d stuttered, which only caused Jack to chuckle.
Was Jack beginning to like the young man, though?
It was hard to tell.
The American boy didn’t know what to feel anymore. In the back of his mind, that’s where Alex would stay, picking him apart, whispering comments that made him want to throw up. Alex would never leave, but Jack was learning to live with that. He had to realise that no, it had been what, nearly two months since Alex had called off their forming relationship, and still not a single sign. Though of course, Jack was unaware to Alex’s behaviour when he was unconscious. If he knew that Alex began to cry, panicking, knowing that it was his fault, perhaps Jack would change his mind. Maybe he would have fallen for the boy all over again if he had felt Alex’s lips against his own, but he didn’t.
Alex was simply a boy that now meant nothing, and Oli was... Oli seemed better than that.
Oli wasn’t ashamed of his sexuality, Oli wouldn’t lead him on, Oli never questioned him, either.
Though of course, Jack soon realised that these were the only plus points towards the nearly twenty-two year old male, but he believed that they managed to balance out the negatives. If only.
Oli was too old for him, Oli was a drug addict, Oli suffered a mental illness, Oli got into fights a lot, but at least he was improving. At least the boy was trying to prove to Jack that he wasn’t as bad as he would expect, that he cared for the younger boy’s well-being, and his way with words just made Jack’s heart flutter.
He assumed that was why when Mr. Sykes offered to take him out for the night, he suffered no hesitation.

“You’re technically still a stranger to me, you know.” Jack commented, as he fumbled to open Oli’s passenger seat of his car. The poor boy had been confused at first, he still wasn’t used to the way Brit’s drove, it just appeared wrong. Of course, the English boy with him found it hilarious, he adored his little foreigner.
“Oh, am I now?” Oli raised an eyebrow, climbing into the driver’s seat, slamming the door shut.
Jack nodded, pulling the seatbelt across his chest, popping it into the lock. “My mom told me to never get in the car with strangers.” He teased, to which Oli reached out a hand to lightly flick the male on the nose.
“Oi, none of that.” He laughed, not bothering for his own safety in the vehicle. Seatbelts were overrated, apparently.
“Where are we going, anyway?” Jack asked, slightly nervous if he was honest. This was what, the fourth time he’d met up with the boy, and yet he had found trust in him to drive him to places he doubted he’d ever been to before. At least it kept his heart racing and mind focused on things other than the blonde haired boy who’s name made him want to vomit.
“I need to pick something up first, and then it’s a mystery.” Oli grinned, eyes darting to the rear-view mirror. Shifting into reverse, he slowly pulled out of Jack’s driveway.
“What are you picking up?” The younger boy asked curiously, his fingers tapping against the dashboard idly.
“My fix.” Came the blunt, honest reply.
Jack grimaced; it was at moments like these that he forgot about Oli’s troubles. “Oh.”
The man noticed Jack’s uncomfortable tone and sighed, “I wont be any different, okay? I just... I really need this right now.”
