Alex had resorted to comfort eating and watching reruns of 'Only Fools And Horses' on UKTV Gold as a method of distraction.

He didn't want to think of what Jack and his mother might be talking about, or shouting, that would be the more likely option.

The English teenager just couldn't help but to feel guilty because he knew that the only reason Jack had got up and left his mum was because of him. Sometimes even Alex thought it would have been easier if Jack never accepted his apology, yet, as the older boy leant back on the sofa with his legs stretched across the two cushions, he had to tell himself that at least his baby was happy now. That was because of him.

Pulling the blanket, which he'd fetched from the airing cupboard, up to his chin, the boy's chocolate brown eyes didn't dare leave that television screen. This program seemed to be his only escape from everything, and fuck did he need it.

A comforting warmth filled his stomach as that familiar theme music filled the front room, and it made Alex smile because he knew all the lyrics by heart.

"Stick a pony in me pocket, I'll fetch the suitcase from the van," The boy sang along, mimicking the dodgy London accent, "'Cause if you want the best-uns, but you don't ask questions, then brother, I'm your man! Just where it all comes from is a mystery; it's like the changing of the seasons and the tides of the sea. But here's the one that's driving me berserk, why do only fools and horses work?" And Alex was even able to copy the 'la la la's that followed soon after.

On reading the title of the episode, the older boy sighed and rolled his eyes for he'd seen this one before, at least three times. That was the problem, really, because although he loved this old television show, he'd watched many of the episodes when he was younger and that meant he knew what was to happen. Alex groaned, he was certain that his mind would wander from the plot and instead think of that boy he adored. He just had to try and focus. Focus. Foc-

"Mm, I wonder… if me and Jack were Del Boy and Rodney, who would we be?" The boy thought aloud as he tried his hardest to compare him and his partner to the main characters of the show. Del Boy wasn't exactly the smartest of men, but he was a hilarious character, and he knew the right things to say. Rodney was the younger brother, he was a little bit more intelligent, but a little gormless if anything. Though he often tried to be his own man, he'd usually succumb to Del Boy and his stupid plans.

With his brows furrowed, it was odd how hard Alex was thinking about this. Only when a voice startled him did he think to look up.

"You'd be the fat one," Jack grinned, referring to Del Boy, "And I'd be the really skinny one." Rodney.

Even though his boyfriend had quite clearly called him overweight, Alex couldn't care. Jack did come back after all, and that's the only thing that really mattered to him at that moment.

Throwing his arms around the lanky boy, Alex cradled his lover closely.

Jack had to laugh as he leant to press his lips against Alex's head, "I said I was coming back," He murmured, "And I told you to not worry, but I suppose from all this you obviously have.” He leant back just a little so that Alex could press their mouths together fondly.

“M’sorry,” The older of the two apologised against Jack’s lips, “You know what I’m like, I’m always jumping to conclusions. I just… I thought your mum was gonna murder you, if I’m honest. Then she’d be on the rampage and come looking for me. At least if she killed me too, we could have our own little cottage in Hell, with marshmallows on the fire surrounding us.” He sighed, his over thinking proving his worry.

The American boy gently tugged his fingers through Alex’s tangled blonde strands, “Well I’m fine, we’re fine- wait, why would we be in Hell and not Heaven?” He questioned, a thick eyebrow raised.
