He should have said no, just two little letters with a full stop to emphasise his point.
Jack didn’t have control though, as his fingers keyed in, ‘twenty minutes. dont be late.’
He was still at school, but luckily in his last period for the day. His eyes kept darting to his phone screen, rereading the small message repeatedly, and reminding himself that it was in fact real. Alex, fucking Alex, needed to talk to him.
He couldn’t believe he’d given in to the English boy’s request so easily. After everything Alex had put him through, he knew too well that he should just tell him that it was too late, it didn’t matter how ‘important’ this information was, Jack didn’t want to hear it.
But he did, oh so badly.
As the minutes passed slowly, Jack was racking his brains, trying to piece together Alex’s puzzle. However, it became known that the more he worried, the more paranoid he would get. He figured he would just settle with the conclusion that Alex only messaged him because he wanted to say a proper goodbye, and perhaps apologise for his shitty behaviour, and then they’d just go back to ignoring each other though knowing they longed for one another’s comfort.
Jack shook his head violently, he shouldn’t be thinking about Alex like that. He had Oli now, didn’t he?
Yeah, and Oli showed more compassion than Alex ever had done.
Yet, whenever he pressed his lips to Oli’s mouth, he could taste Alex. If he closed his eyes in the tattooed boy’s arms, head buried into his chest, Jack could smell Alex’s strong aftershave. He couldn’t even deny the fact that the boy was on his mind constantly, and he knew that Oli was picking up on the fact he wasn’t quite right.
But Jack knew perfectly well that Oli would do anything to keep him by his side, which was why they never argued, because the twenty-two year old man agreed to everything Jack had to say.
The American was beginning to hate the kindness though, as strange as it sounds. Sometimes he just ached for an argument, and for the past three weeks of being Oli’s boyfriend, they hadn’t suffered a disagreement once. You would have expected consistent conflict between the two, what with Oli’s short temper, but absolutely nothing. Heck, with Alex, they fought from the word go. The thrill of it all kept him interested, and he had to admit that an angry boy was a sexy boy.
Jack caught himself smiling as he began to reminisce, though the grin soon faded as reality sunk in. This wasn’t right, none of this was right.
As the bell for the end of the lesson rang, the tall boy scraped his seat back, and within seconds, he had dashed from the room.
Ten minutes until Alex was coming over, he had to get home as soon as possible to make himself look presentable.

Knowing that Jack wanted to see him, Alex certainly felt a little reassured. He was intrigued to know how the younger boy would react to such an announcement, but he didn’t know what to expect.
There were two ways that this could go.
One, Jack would start to cry, tell Alex how much he missed him, and ask for him to come back.
Or two, Jack would become violent as he runs his mouth, expressing his anger towards the boy, showing that he didn’t want anything to do with Alex, not anymore.
Alex was praying the first option would be the one.
His pace was gradually becoming slower as Jack’s driveway was in sight. A lump formed in his throat, he gulped, he could see the other male pacing back and forth in his living room through the window.
