Chapter Thirty

JACKIE

I slowly opened my eyes and a white surroundings greeted my sight. Napahawak ako sa ulo ko ng maramdaman itong kumirot. Where am I? All I remember is that I just got out of my condo when someone suddenly sneaked behind me. That someone covered my nose with a handkerchief that made me dizzy and then everything went black. Am I being kidnapped? Iginala ko ang paningin ko sa paligid at tumigil ito sa isang taong nakaupo sa bed hindi kalayuan sa akin. Nanlaki ang mga mata ko.

"T-Tom?" Upon hearing my name, he look up. Nang makita akong gising ay ngumiti siya.

"Hey babe. You're up. How's your head? Masakit ba?" He stood up and started walking towards me. Nagsumiksik ako sa gilid in an attempt to get away from him. What the hell?

"Where am I? Saan mo ako dinala?" Tanong ko. Hindi ako nagpadala sa takot na unti unting nabubuhay sa dibdib ko. Hindi naman siguro ako sasaktan ni Tom diba?

"We're in my family's yacht. Naalala mo ito? Diba sinabi ko sa iyo noon ipapangalan ko ito sa atin? And atlast! Nagawa ko na baby."

"Y-Yacht?" Nanginginig na tanong ko. Oh God. Parang doon ko lang naramdaman na yumuyugyog ng bahagya ang paligid ko.

W-we're..i-in..the m..middle of t-the sea?

Mabilis na umahon ang takot at kaba sa dibdib ko. Napapikit ako ng madiin at napahawak sa laylayan ng dress ko.

"Dito naman nagsimula lahat diba? After ng mangyari dito, nagkanda gulo gulo na tayo. That's why I brought you here. Let's start a new memory here baby. Let's start fresh. Give us another chance." Sabi ni Tom pero wala akong maintindihan sa sinasabi niya. Ang tanging pumasok sa isip ko ay ang nagyari almost a year ago. Bumalik lahat sa akin. Flashbacks came flashing right infront of me. We're in a boat. And then a big wave hit us, causing our boat to turn upside down. And there was me, struggling to keep my head above the water. I can't breathe.. It's so hard to breathe.

"N-No..."

Naramdaman kong tumutulo na ang luha ko. Mas humigpit ang hawak ko sa damit ko. Hindi ako makahinga.

"Hey you don't have to be scared baby. I'm here. I'll protect you." I felt him touching my arm but I immediately scooted away from him.

"Get away from me! Y-You knew I hate being in the water." I said to him in a weak voice, still struggling to zone out the flashbacks.

"I thought okay ka na?"

I thought so too. Until you brought me here again and remind me of my biggest nightmare.

"Do I look okay to you?" I ask him. I concentrated in breathing in and out slowly. Remember that you're okay. You're in control. That's what the doctor told me before. I did what she told me.

You're okay Jackie. Nothing's gonna hurt you. You're in control. In no time, help will come. Vice will find you. Vice... Yes si Vice. Hindi ka niya papabayaan. I assured myself. Thinking about Vice calmed me. Nagmulat ako at tiningnan si Tom.

"Ibalik mo na ako sa bahay Tom. Stop this." Sabi ko sakanya. Umiling iling siya.

"No baby. We'll fix this. We'll fix us."

"There's nothing to be fix because there's no us! Hindi na kita mahal Tom!" I yelled at him. His aura suddenly darkened.

"At sinong mahal mo? Si Vice?" Tumawa siya. Yung klase ng tawa na kikilabutan ka.

"God Jackie. From me to him? Nakakainsulto naman para sa akin. Ipagpapalit mo na nga ako sa bakla pa. What happened to your standards?" He ask mockingly. I glared him. I was about to respond when someone speak first.
