The main problem with & throughout anyone's time in high school is - judgement.
Whether it's what you look like, where you're from, the clothes you wear, the subjects you're into, the music you like, who you hang out with, even who you go out with...... Everything.
Some people can deal with judgement by just ignoring it & brushing them off their shoulders, some differently & then there's some that can't deal with it very well, or even at all...
You wouldn't say you were the most popular girl in school, or the least, you were just comfortably in the middle with your nice little group of friends.
Now, everyone knows in high school that that's the time where cliques begin to form & all that crap.
To be honest, you weren't at all bothered of what 'clique' you were to be in, as long as it was with a nice group of friends then that's all that mattered to you.
So you placed yourself in the music clique - the group of people who's lives revolved around music: singing, playing instruments, listening to music, talking about bands, going to concerts, dreaming & hoping to make it in the music industry yourselves one day etc.
It was seen that people couldn't go out with someone that was in a different clique, apparently it 'wasn't right' or something like that, but anyhow, everyone seemed to follow this bizarre rule. Except you. You looked at the guys in your cliques sure they were attractive & nice & all but you couldn't picture yourself having a relationship with any of them. Especially one boy in particular, Luke Hemmings. Your best guy-friend.
You remember your first day at high school, you wore your Green Day shirt while he wore his Nirvana shirt; you both got drawn together like magnets due to both liking the band printed on the other's shirts. It was awesome having a guy best friend that had the same music taste & everything as you.
Everyone - not only in your clique, but throughout school - said that you & Luke were the OTP of the school & that you should go out with eachother, but you didn't see Luke that way; if anything, you saw him more as a brother than a boyfriend-way, & you didn't want that to change.
But like I said, everyone followed the bizarre 'only go out with someone in your clique' rule, except you. If you liked someone that was in a different clique to you & they liked you back (hopefully), then you were going to go out with them regardless of some stupid high school rule.
Which leads us to Ashton Irwin. You first met eachother in Science class, you had been sat together in the seating plan & ever since that first day, you thought he was insanely cute.
You didn't talk much the first day, just exchanging information about the class work & such.
So when lunchtime came, you sat with you clique & looked around to see where Ashton was & where his clique was. Luke say down beside you & asked, "What you gawping at Y/N?" You said your head, eyes focused ahead of you searching for Ashton as you reply, "Nothing, I'm just looking for someone."
"Oh yeah, & who's that?"
"Erm, Ashton something...can't remember his last name...oh there he is!!" You smile as you see Ashton in sight, your heart race picking up slightly just from seeing this boy; were you falling for him?
"You mean Ashton Irwin?"
"I think so? You know him?"
"Yeah, I sit next to him in Maths, he's sound enough, seems pretty cool, pretty smart too."
You couldn't help but smile as Luke described Ashton as you watched him walk around, wondering which clique he would be in. He seemed pretty built up, so maybe the jocks?
