manhattan, new yorkBrooke always wondered how she and Tony had so many friends; they were always working. Nonetheless, the common floor of Avengers Tower was filled with all types of people all there for one common reason: to have fun at one of the Starks legendary parties.
While the rest of her teammates were busy having a drink or introducing themselves to the guests, Brooke made her way around, greeting everyone and sending them meaningless waves. Sam—who was looking for Steve—noticed the brunette and called her name to get her attention. "Brooke, hey! Nice party. Did you come up with the playlist?" Sam asked after Brooke walked over to him.
Brooke hummed with a nod before she took a sip out of her water bottle. "Thanks. Yeah, Tony only would've played rock music, so I stepped in and added some pop to mix it up."
Sam noticed the water bottle, letting out a playful scoff as he rolled his eyes. "Brookster, you're so lame. This is your own party and you're drinking water? Come on now."
"That is where you are wrong, Young Sam." Brooke said with a chuckle, holding her water bottle up slightly. "Remember how I got totally fucked up last time I got super drunk?" Brooke asked, Sam's eyes widening playfully.
"Damn, Brooke. Don't throw that big word out there. Stevie Boy wouldn't be too happy to hear it." Sam said, making the socialite chuckle.
"Anyway, Steve and Tony came up with an idea: instead of me drinking tons of vodka, wine, and beer like I did last time, I'm only allowed beer and only if one of them give it to me. They're also supposed to be with me the entire time." Brooke said with a smirk before she took another sip of the liquid in her water bottle.
Sam nodded, looking at the water bottle skeptically. "Uh huh. How long you been by yourself?"
Brooke shrugged as she tried to think. "That I remember? Five minutes."
"What's in the bottle?" Sam asked as he nodded to it.
"This? This is vodka." Brooke said, pausing to take a sip. "Nat and Darlene smuggled it for me."
"Are you even drunk? Because I saw you earlier with a beer and I don't think you're even tipsy right now." Sam said, Brooke shaking her head.
"I'm not. I'm fine. I have to say, you are a little blurry." Brooke said, making Sam chuckle.
"Okay, come on. If I leave you by yourself and you do something insane and I could've stopped it, Steve and Tony would kick my ass." Sam said, Brooke linking her arm through his before they set out to find Steve. During a casual conversation, Sam noticed Steve by the pool table, whistling to get the super soldier's attention. "Hey, Cap! Missing something?" Sam asked as he gently pushed the girlfriend to her boyfriend.
