After they put the kids to bed, Steve and Brooke sat in their living room watching Taken, Steve sipping on a beer while Brooke was on her third glass of Jack and Coke. "I had a nightmare about Liam Neeson once." Brooke spoke up, making Steve give her an expectant look. "I kidnapped his daughter and he just wasn't having it."

"How much alcohol did you drink before that nightmare?" Steve asked, chuckling after Brooke's face scrunched up in thought.

"Seven or eight."

Steve's eyebrows raised in surprise. "—glasses?"

Brooke shook her head as she took another sip of her drink. "—bottles."

"It really is a wonder that your liver still works." Brooke rolled her eyes at Steve before she downed her drink and walked over to the bar to make another one. "I think Tony was right."

Brooke glanced over her shoulder, giving Steve a look of confusion. "—about what?"

"—about how I should've signed the Accords." Steve took another sip of his beer, him speaking up again before Brooke could say anything. "If I would've signed, I could've been here for you and Hailie like I should've."

"She doesn't blame you, baby. I don't blame you." Brooke reassured as she sat on the couch. "If it was me and what happened to Buck happened to Tony, I'd do exactly what you did."

"I blame me. I should've signed. Hailie needed a father. I would've been here for her; for you. We probably would've had Mikey sooner." Steve finished the rest of his beer before he put the empty bottle on the coffee table. "Sometimes I wish I stopped being Captain America before the Accords."

"You'd keep stopping the bullies. I know you." Steve looked over at Brooke, nodding in agreement as he fiddled with his wedding ring. "I get it though. Sometimes I just wanna drop my suits in Tony's lake and forget about them."

"—but would that stop you from making more?" Steve asked, making the brunette shrug. "You were right. We really do need to get a life."

Noah walked into the living room, giving his aunt and uncle a shy wave as he rocked on his heels. "Guess who just learned the different between wax paper and parchment paper the hard way?"

Steve glanced at Brooke before looking back to Noah. "What's the difference?"

"One you can use in the oven." Noah stated, his aunt and uncle giving each other uneasy looks. "You can also use the other one in the oven if the thing you're trying to make is a fire."
